  1. Oh and I think people should cut Dopirak some slack. He's been through a lot of adversity and is only 23 still. Not to mention he's got his power back and has a .356 OBP for the month of July. Let's hope he can continue to progress in Daytona and move up to Tenn sometime next year. Then he can hope to get called up some time in 2009 if he's lucky. At least he's no Ryan Harvey.
  2. Notable Performances (Not a lot of offense today, but some good pitching performances) Peoria RHP Robert Hernandez - 5 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, BB, 6 SO Daytona CF Matt Camp - 0 for 4 and 2 R...? 1B Brian Dopriak - 1 for 4, HR, 2 RBI, R, 2 SO (13 Dope-Slaps in 63 G) Tenn LHP Donnie Veal - 5 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 6 SO Iowa 1B Geovany Soto - 1 for 4, HR, RBI, R, SO (4th HR in L5 G, 16th in 77 G)

  4. Yeah I hope so. Colvin never signed TTM?
  5. That was Bowman Chrome & Heritage 2006 Really? Looks like the '07 version to me. Bowman Heritage 2006 came out 12/13/06 Bowman Heritage 2007 comes out 10/31/07
  6. And who exactly is that pictured on the Chris Robinson autograph in the 1st post? (This is also a question in another thread) http://media.scout.com/Media/Image/43/433922.jpg & http://media.scout.com/Media/Image/35/352685.jpg vs http://i8.ebayimg.com/02/i/000/ab/c3/80de_1_b.JPG

Mathes Matt Camp Mitch Atkins Ryan Norwood (Oops he got released) Autographed Cards Eric Patterson Jeff Samardzija Jeremy Papelbon What a horrible lineup for Bowman Chrome. I really don't want a Jeff Samardzija auto at all. I'm more interested in the Matt Camp, Mitch Atkins & Jeremy Papelbon cards. Scott Taylor & maybe Sam Fuld for regular Bowman.
  9. Notable Performances: Boise C Josh Donaldson - 0 for 2, 2 BB, R, SO Peoria SS Darwin Barney - 2 for 4, 2B, 3B, 2 R Daytona CF Matt Camp - 2 for 4, 2B, R, SO, SB (2nd SB in 9 G) Tenn CF Tyler Colvin - 3 for 4, BB, 2 RBI, 3 R 3B Kyle Reynolds - 4 for 5, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 3 R (2 HRs in 3 G) Iowa 1B Geovany Soto - 1 for 5, HR, 3 RBI, R, 2 SO C Tony Richie - 3 for 4, R, SB (2 SB in 38 G)
  10. I'm looking forward to Iowa's outing tonight. Let's see if Soto can climb to the top of every offensive statistical category in the PCL after tonight. Then MAYBE Hendry will take a look at him. Another one @ 9 PM. But we do face RHP Mike Esposito and his 5.50 ERA and 1.57 WHIP. Both good for 2nd on the team (Out of 6 pitchers with 7+ starts for the Sky Sox). Oh how I love games played in Colorado. His ERA is 3.25 in road games, 7.65 at home.
  11. I just like the guy because he has been continuing to hit successfully through the jump from Rookie to A ball. He had a 1.220 OPS in Mesa and a .868 OPS right now in Peoria. He hit 5 triples in Mesa which is ridiculous. And that he was the State champion in the 100 Meter dash and also runs a 4.4 40. Great athlete and great prospect IMO especially for a 10th rounder. Hit .667 in HS and .434 at a Juco before coming to BYU. Set the MWC stolen base record for a Soph with 29 last season.
  12. Just thought it was interesting. Hope Lilly can stay hot somehow. I don't even know what some of those stats mean. Here's their glossary: http://www.baseballhq.com/free/acronyms.shtml?src=hqf
  13. And CF Leon Johnson & SS Darwin Barney aren't real prospects? Then why did the Cubs draft them in the top 10 rounds a month ago? Johnson is 22 and Barney turns 22 in November. Johnson through 8 games: .308/.419/.462 Barney through 7 games: .269/.387/.308 - Needs to work on his power
  14. Boise Hawks win 7-4 Boise is fun to listen to and follow. Their lineup is STACKED top to bottom with great Cubs prospects (offensively at least). The only player who didn't get a hit on the Hawks walked 3 times! They are in a crappy division and should run away with it. It sounds like their crowd really gets in to the games as well. RHP Al Alburquerque - 8 K in 3 IP! 3B Marquez Smith - 1 for 1, 3 BB (what is this lol) 2B Tony Thomas - 2 for 4, RBI, 2 R, SB, SO (7th SB in 10 G) DH Kyler Burke - 2 for 4, HR, 3 RBI, R, SO (4th HR in 24 G, .902 OPS) C Josh Donaldson - 2 for 4, HR, RBI, R, 2 SO (6th HR in 18 G, 1.086 OPS) Other than Boise here are some notable performances: Tenn CF-RF Tyler Colvin - Game 1: 2 for 2, 2B, BB Game 2: 1 for 3, SB, SO (2nd SB in 32 G) RHP Mark Holliman - 7 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 SO Iowa LF-CF Buck Coats - 1 for 5, HR, RBI, 2 R (11th HR in 98 G) C Geovany Soto - 2 for 3, 2 BB, 3 R, 1 SO
  15. Per the Iowa Manager Buddy Bailey: Felix - did something to his quad Kroeger - did something to his oblique :(
  16. THE MANAGER OF THE IOWA CUBS WILL BE TALKING ABOUT WHY THESE GUYS WERE PULLED IN THE POSTGAME SHOW Tune in now the game has 1 out to go.
  17. Not a good debut for now 1B Matt Craig... GIDP and a ground-out that makes 3 groundouts for the game. Not what you want to do in Colorado.
  18. You beat my thread for the same exact thing. Here is what I posted. I'm going to start listening to the Iowa audio feed and see if they talk about anything happening: Iowa debuted the bat of Matt Craig today pinch-hitting for Pie in the 4th inning. He can play either 1B or 3B. Scott Moore should start playing 3rd soon back down in Iowa. Him coming up allows Josh Kroeger to move back to LF from 1B and Buck Coats to move to CF from LF. Even though Eric Patterson is playing both 2B and LF today. It only makes sense to me... Could there also be a trade of Jaque Jones in the works?
  19. Hmm, he was PH for in the 4th inning. Is it ok to be hopeful that he's being called up? Thats what I was thinking EDIT: Simokaitis shows up Craig with his own Iowa debut pinch hitting for Kroeger and hitting a GR double in the 5th. Maybe these guys just need some rest... BTW, Peoria Chiefs win 4-1
  20. Matt Craig just made his debut for Iowa pinch-hitting for Pie...he grounded out to 1B
  21. Wood's pitches that I caught 83 mph 94 94 78, K Single to CF 93 upstairs ball popped foul in the dirt (batter went around) strikeout looking inside (ball bounces off catcher's glove)
  22. Peoria up 4-0 in the 6th against the mini-Reds. I really like the 1-2 punch of CF Johnson and SS Barney in that lineup. Blanco finishes 1 for 2 with a BB. EDIT: Kerry Wood's warming up in the bullpen!
  23. Well that's one less wild card team to worry about. (2.5 games out and falling)
  24. The Peoria lineup cracks me up: CF Johnson SS Barney RF Adduci C Blanco What power they have in the cleanup spot! Edit: BTW Blanco just got thrown out by the RF running from 1st to 3rd on an error by the 1B.
