http://www.dailybreeze.com/news/articles/1705006.html Police have responded to the Redondo Beach home of Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Milton Bradley three times this summer on domestic violence calls, including one instance in which he allegedly choked his pregnant wife, bloodied her lip and hurled a cellular telephone into a wall. I'm not one who thinks there's much value in clubhouse chemistry, but beating your pregnant wife is an exception.
“I'll watch the replay and file it.” – Pitcher David Wells, when asked about Alfonso Soriano's backward strut after Soriano homered off Wells. http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/padres/20070616-9999-lz1s16padres.html
At this point in his career, maybe he sees his skills deteriorating to the point where he won't be around in 2-3 years. He could see dollar signs and then charge mucho bucks for interviews and book deals and whatnot. Because if he'd be the one to bust the steriod thing wide open, he'd be on just about every news show there is. He'd be everywhere for about a month as the man who "helped clean up baseball," then he'd probably sign an 8-figure book deal. 8-figure book deal?
With the Cubs standing and recent play, I don't see how Hendry could trade Z at this time. The Brewers are the only other contender in this division, and with their recent snide, means the Cubs are legitimate NL Central contenders.
Whether the information was released legally or not, doesn't mean it's false. Urine and blood testing is not the only way to know if someone has ever used an illegal substance. Admitting illegal drug use in a court of law is another way.
Your thoughts? My thought is I'm going to go ahead and ignore his opinion since he doesn't even know when Prior's scheduled to become a FA. If he doesn't know that simple fact, it's impossible to make an informed decision on what contract details to offer him.
If Miller goes to the pen, then Guzman would be the 5th starter presumably, so that doesn't really help. :!: Oh yeah, you're right. I guess I'm trying to say swap Miller and Guzman, drop Ohman and call up Cherry.
I know it's only two weeks into the season, but Ohman hasn't shown even a sliver of dominance either in close games (walking two when relieving Z) or blow-out games (Giles's 3-run bomb tonight). Either Wade Miller or Rocky Cherry need to take his spot in the bullpen. The Cubs would be much stronger for it.
For the poster who said this game could very well determine the rest of Murton's career, it's looking pretty good for Matt. Though, if Soriano is out for an extended period of time, he's going to get a lot more playing time anyway. and Barrett goes yard.
