    The x-rays are back on Brian Dopirak and the news is not good. Brian suffered a broken foot, he will be lost for at least six weeks.

    Pina was just a fill in guy. He will not be on the opening day roster. The roster has been announced, but won't be official until Monday morning. I will post it mid-morning on Monday.

    That's the reason why he switched positions. The fastest way to the major leagues is showing versatility. If Craig can be successful behind the plate then that would make at least three positions that he could play.

    cubs 1206, Matt requested the position change after talking with some folks in the organization. This wasn't a Cubs decision.

    Actually, let me stop the confusion. The rotation is Zambrano, Maddux, Rusch, Marshall and who ever the Cubs decide to deem the 5th starter when the spot is needed on April 18th.

    I am assuming that Williams slides back into the number five spot or someone comes up from Iowa when the 5th spot is needed on April 18th.

    It is official.. Sean Marshall is the Cubs number four pitcher in the rotation. Glendon Rusch goes to the fifth spot and Jerome Williams goes to long relief.

    Guzzy is getting there.. when he gets back to his 2002 form, there are going to be ALOT of Cubs fans salivating when they see this kid pitch. Now this is my personal opinion and you folks can call me crazy, but when Guzman is 100% he is the best pitcher the Cubs have in their entire organization (that's right.. I said better than Zambrano, Prior, Wood and anyone else in the Cubs organization).

    Cubs 1206, I mean that the roster isn't set in stone and alot could happen between now and when the final roster is made. Keep in mind that the big club still has some moves to be made and those moves have a trickle down effect. Goony, I feel your pain about the moves the club has made but in this case, I will go with the Cubs. One successful year doesn't make a career. I don't think that Sisco is going to be anything special compared to the pitchers the Cubs have in their system.

    Welcome to the board cubs 1206. As for Hoffpauir being on the Double-A roster, we shall see if he remains there come Monday April 3rd.

    He was one of the guys on the forty man roster. As for Sisco getting picked up, I am going to side with the Cubs on this one. He was not the greatest teammate in the clubhouse, which was one of the big reasons why he was left unprotected.

    I have completely enjoyed watching both of these guys pitch. At this point Marshall is a little sharper than Guzman but not by much. I think the reason why Sean has the inside track on the 5th spot in the rotation is because he has thrown more strikes than his competition. Having said that, Sean still has one more start and he needs to continue what he has done this spring. A bad start could move him back to West Tenn.

    One week and counting... the Jaxx will take on Lambuth Univ. in a scrimmage to be aired on Newstalk 101.5 FM beginning at 6:05 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, April 5th.

    Well one of those names is no longer with the Cubs organization. Dwaine Bacon was traded to Anaheim for the infamous player to be named later.
