  1. If you take away every inning in which he was scored upon, his ERA was 0.00.
  2. 6 months is the time limit, and the PTBNL cannot be in the same league as the player acquired.
  3. Iceman - is Jones going to be part of the next Cub winning team? Right now he is part of the problem, not a solution. Trade the stupidest baserunner, and the worst thrower in the league - trade him when you can! See ya frenchie! Thanks for all the laughs!
  4. Unfortunately, an owner such as Mark Cuban would never get approved by the other owners. They don't want the competition.
  5. First pitch gidp Dusty will never hire this fool...
  6. I like all the Cuban for owner threads, and all the trade suggestions for 34+ year old retreads as a way to solve the Cub's ills. Thank you for your brilliant insight!
  7. Willie Mays may be available as well.
  8. I am all for starting over from the top on down, but it aint happening. They just reupped Hendry for two years, and are not going to fire him less than thirty days after making that mistake. I doubt Dusty will be gone soon either.
  9. I mentioned the three blind mice at the beginning of this post, and figured it was assumed I want all three to go.
  10. What can be more worse case than right now? Poor hitting - check Poor pitching - check Poor fielding - check Lack of hustle - check Inability to develop players - check Making excuses - priceless
  11. I am not blaming everything on Dusty, as there are THREE blind mice running the Cubs, not just one. To even consider reupping the blind man "managing" the team after the results of the last two plus seasons in astounding. Evidently, a fan cannot recognize problems with the team, it's management, and it's reactions, because we are not affiliated with the Cubs or with major league baseball. You go on supporting the three blind mice, and buy into the excuses, but I can't do that. This is a disaster and an embarrasement, and NO one is taking ANY blame whatsoever. I have listened to these same excuses, seen the same fundamentally poor play, excrusiating lineup decisions, and poor player personnel moves for the last three years. Dusty lets his players off the hook. Hendry lets Dusty off the Hook MacPhail lets Hendry off the hook. Quite the organization.
  12. From one of the three blind mice - Jim Hendry “Under the circumstances we’re in and with the people out there, I think it’s unfair to be critical of the manager over what’s happened the last couple weeks, Hendry said. “Dusty and (my) conversations, obviously, should remain private. And he understands that the process, how I’m going to do it, and he doesn’t have an issue with it. If he doesn’t have an issue with it now, I don’t see why anybody else would. “When you’ve gotten beat the way we have the last couple weeks, I don’t think it’s something (where) you want to lump all the blame on the manager.” When is anyone in the Cub organization going to take any responisibility for the putrid product put on the field? You can't blame Dusty? Really? It must be the writer's fault the Cub's don't hustle. Even Ken Harreslon pointed out that difference between the two teams during the broadcast on Saturday. Certainly the manager is not responsible for that. It is the fan's fault we can't hit the cutoff man on throws from the outfield. At home, the fans in the bleachers should be yelling what base or what player the ball should be thrown to (or in Jone's case, what part of the ground should be thrown to) The Cub nation of bloggers are responsible for all the baserunning mistakes, as well as the poor lineup construction. Please start suggesting starting lineups a day in advance, as Dusty needs some time to digest all this new fangled information you guys can find. Only the Cubs can find a way to turn the (small) positive of a win over the Sox into yet another embarressment as we continue to blindly say that absolutely nothing is wrong with this putrid team and its management. Nope, not their fault. Not at all.
  13. Thanks for the good laugh I got from this post. I really needed it!
  14. Good to see the Cub fandom blaming yet another boneheaded Cub play on somebody else. Must be just plain bad luck. The wind blowing out must have slowed down the throw. The runner could have given a 10 foot bearth to our player, and this never would have happened. The way our team never makes a mistake, we must have the best record in the league. Our manager never takes blame, our gm never takes blame, our players never take blame, and half the fans won't blame. Bad luck. Woe is me.
  15. Buckie can come clean my house at any time.
  16. What a brilliant post - let's hire two more idiots to replace the garbage we have here! Please, post more of this..
  17. Help me! I agree totally with Jay Mariotti today! http://www.suntimes.com/output/mariotti/cst-spt-jay20.html
  18. How is it when players do too little, some apologist says cut them a break, they are trying to do to much? That does look good on a resume sent to the Cubs.
  19. This is a great signing - He is athletic and fast, can field, and we all know the Cubs are over the top in developing bats! We can rid him of those pesky walks in no time! Nice one, Jimbo!
  20. After listening to Hendry the last few days glorifying the stink that is Dusty, I have lost all hope for this team until a thorough housecleaning happens starting with MacPhail, and ending with every mgr/coach fired down to the Dominican Level. No one has a plan, they are totally blind to their ineptness both off and on the field, but they fill up the park every day, so everything is just fine. What a bunch of retards. I am waiting for Neifi to get hot (two hits in a week) so we can extend his contract another couple years. We can't too many never-was veterans around, which is why we had to sign Womack as well. I am sick of this team, their management, the utter cluelessness of Dusty, and the lack of effort and fundamentals on the field, all of which seem to be applauded by the three blind mice. Can't wait to win two in a row, so we can reup him for a couple more years as well. What a disgrace. I am actually embarrassed to be a fan of this train wreck.
  21. The odds of that happening with this manager and this team are almost as good as you winning the Illinois Lottery tonight.
  22. JVB was one of Boston's first cuts this spring. Other than Nolasco, we haven't lost anyone of any significance. Most of these guys I would have been happy to get a bag of balls in return.
  23. I can't wait to see the next thread on an awful player we can sign to play out of position.
  24. My advice to you is to lay off the drugs you are using.
