From Rotoworld: Cubs acquired outfielder Jody Gerut from the Indians for outfielder Jason Dubois. It'd almost make more sense the other way, as Gerut is the same type of player as Todd Hollandsworth and Dubois is rather similar to Casey Blake. Gerut figures to take Ben Grieve's job. We doubt he'll be handed Hollandsworth's job against right-handers, but he might take some of his playing time. NL-only leaguers should wait and see. ndians acquired outfielder Jason Dubois from the Cubs for outfielder Jody Gerut. Interesting. We don't mind the trade for the Indians, but we're surprised they couldn't get a prospect thrown in with Dubois, given how down the Cubs were on him. Whether Dubois will have any more of a role than Gerut did is a mystery. That he's a right-handed hitter, like Casey Blake, doesn't really help his case. Still, we like his chances of outhitting Blake if given a chance. AL-only leaguers may want to wait to see what his role will be before picking him up. Jul. 18 - 11:21 pm et
