That's pretty much what every team president/owner says just before firing the GM. Oh, I can see saying all kinds of things. Saying your happy with the direction of htis team, thoug, is ludicrous. I realize it's August and hotter than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest, but do you see the number of fans in the stands at Reds games these days? Never in a million years would "happy with the direction of this team" come out of my mouth. They're old, and likely losing the players that fans still care to see in Griffey and Dunn. They have some talent in the minors, but not nearly enough to make you think that they can compete by building from within, and a GM who has made it evident that they won't compete by building from outside the organization. Basically, they won't be competetive for a long time, barring an unforeseen miracle. Make up lies, Castellini, but at least make them believable.
