  1. New players go on waivers. So you can't add him for two days and had better pray your priority is high enough. Crap, you got much higher priority than me.
  2. Hopefully this spreads! Great news indeed!
  3. Obviously we lack the FIRE and INTENSITY that a winning team needs. We should trade for a proven winner immediately.
  4. I STILL can't believe he got that contract. How high was Seattle? I mean really, what were they smoking? It had to be some crazy stuff.
  5. That might be the core of a deal, but I would think it would take some tweaking since Zambrano (although a possible free agent)>Santana and Murton (so far in the majors)>Wood. I was under the impression that Wood will be the far superior player, if not this year than in the future.
  6. Worth quoting. These are the only games all year that I don't get to see. *angry ramblings*
  7. i agree with you big time on this...he was hobbling all over the place today that is not good...last time i checked you still have to run in left field I will third this....he was not even looking close to healthy. I wouldn't be surprised if he was put on the 15 day DL retroactively tomorrow. (They can do that right?)
  8. How long until he breaks down though? I would be shocked if he got 400 ABs.
  9. I'd rather get good hitters. With Gallagher, Veal and Samardgjia batters are a more pressing need. Don't forget about Da Gooz and Marmol. But point taken. So lets throw some names out there.... Brandon Wood (Angels), Cameron Maybin (Tigers), Fernando Martinez (Mets), Jose Tabata (Yankees)....?
  10. journeyman, he made a few starts for the Cubs last year (and sucked) and pitched a little bullpen in september. Ever since spring training he's been lights out. I just don't get it. Those stats Fred posted clearly show how terrible he was last year, the only bright spot being his high K rate, which was completely overshadowed by his inability to prevent hits or walks. Oh, and I guess it's spelled "Walrond". Looking at his Baseball Cube stats I can see that he's really just been everywhere, never really finding success. The guy is 30 now!
  11. I certainly didn't see that coming.
  12. If we're talking trades, why not mention Hughes or Linecum?
  13. If you aren't going to be serious, then I'm done here. I thought we were having a detailed statistical conversation here. You're the one who jacked the thread by telling me to "move on." You're not a moderator. I actually finished second in the public vote for moderator back in 2001, and I'm assistant regional moderator at the moment, so move on. Assistant to the regional moderator. Winner.
  14. I saw that and loved it. I was laughing and cheering as loudly as if the Cubs were doing it. I think this is something that everyone can remember for a long time.
  15. Who the hell is Les Warlond, and when did he become so effective?
