  1. Wow. A third of our offense consists soley of groundouts.
  2. That's not fair. Expecting Jones to hit lefties is like expecting Steven Hawking to win the Boston Marathon. It just ain't gonna happen.
  3. How about that for poetic justice? We lose a potential run to a strong RF arm...
  4. Is Jacque Jones' arm really that bad? I mean, surely Hendry would have seen scouting reports on this. It's just pathetic. I would hate to see how he throws in a real pressure situation like the playoffs.
  5. Ideally: Cabrera LF, Jones/Wilson RF. That would rock my socks.
  6. Please let this be wrong and he actually is just retiring forever.
  7. Huh. Murton in #3. Interesting lineup. I'm gonna be excited to see how it performs. And for the record, I can't ever root against the Cubs. For me it's just impossible. I love them too much.
  8. Snap. The wheels are already in motion for Manchester U's refusal as well. They've been getting antsy about the doctors, and all sorts. As a news story, its already ludicrously overblown, certainly on this side of the pond. Yep. Things don't look too good for England this year. I mean, even if they do manage to do alright, they'll lose on penalties.
  9. First game not far off. US better start playing better.....
  10. Here come the Pirates, tra-la tra-la....
  11. And the ferris wheel of AAA players spins on...
  12. As much as I think it would help, I'd be worried about moving our best hitting coach from AAA. In theory, don't those hitters need more help than our MLB players?
  13. I have no idea. Maybe because they have a 3 year albatross around their necks called Jacque Jones? Simply put, I think they were thinking he would develop power faster. I think he should be given the rest of the season.
  14. My god....I thought they killed it. And now it's escaped. Head for hills!
  15. No worries, Womack is on the way. Cubs do need more speed. And more second basemen! Here, I redesigned the baseball diamond so it only consists of a pitcher's mound and second bases. It looks like they're crapping on the field. I think that's a good strategy, personally. I thought we were doing that already? :-({|=
  16. How about the "Dusty Baker Five Year Plan"?
  17. So, he's getting traded soon? BA-DUM CHHHH.
  18. Fearless prediction: Mark Prior with 15 wins by the end of the season.
  19. "Slowly Losing my Mind" - BB King "Waiting in Vain" - Bob Marley "Never Get Out of these Blues Alive" - John Lee Hooker "Oh My God" - Kaiser Chiefs "I Can't Quit You Baby" - Led Zeppelin "How Many More Times" - Led Zeppelin "Fell on Black Days" - Soundgarden "Throw Away Your Television" - Red Hot Chili Peppers
  20. Like I said in the game thread, one day Miguel Cabrera is gonna make a 'good' team a great team. Let's hope its the Cubs.
  21. You gotta keep Prior and Z. I object to trading them. Unless you want a 4 year reconstruction period, I wouldn't trade either. By keeping both of them you ensure a 1-2 ace punch, that is a good core with Aramis Ramirez, Michael Barrett, and Derrek Lee. Plus, this is totally pointless as his value is at an all-time low right now. Even if you were to trade him, at least wait until he gets a couple starts under his belt. But as I've said before, now is not the time for massive trades. Wait until the trading deadline when teams get real desperate. There will always be room for a Prior on a pitching staff. No need to hurry and sell low.
