  1. I know what your saying goes beyond injuries, but its not like they've been completely healthy with Edmonds, Rolen, Carpenter and others missing significant time over the past 2 seasons. Not as devistating as the Cubs but still. And as for having players fill in well, i guess they just have a better organization then the Cubs do. Don't forget a better manager.
  2. Agreed. If anyone should get there, it should be him. But NIMBY ya know? (Not In My Back Yard)
  3. Wow. That is...unexpected. I could have sworn Wuertz would be called up. But I guess it's too soon...? Congrats to him. This could be interesting.
  4. Muy bueno. We can worry about his velocity later. My thoughts exactly. Great job by Prior. He was efficient and executed well. Didn't fall behind batters too much, and no walks. I like it. Good as can be expected I think.
  5. Before the 3rd, Prior with 18 pitches, 11 of which were strikes. Good outing for him so far, the only hit was rare infield hit where the runner beat Prior to the bag.
  6. :D Good news and good luck for Pawelek!
  7. First time listening to Minor League ball, following the Prior game tonight.
  8. Whoops. Just posted this in General Discussion as well. Anyway, my view is that I can't really rejoice over it, because I know how much it sucks to have the ONE guy on your team who matters most go down to injury, especially from a baseball point of view, Pujols was such an amazing player. From a Cubs view though, I feel like the field has been leveled and I feel like this is a good opportunity to make some ground up.
  9. According to a LaRussa interview in-game, Pujols heard or felt something pop when he tried to chase a Nevin foul ball. I don't have any sources for this yet, and I don't know how long he's gonna be out. From a baseball standpoint, I hate to see a great baseball player go down on injury, but from a Cubs standpoint I feel like the field has been leveled.
  10. COBS WIN! COBS WIN! COBS WIN! YESS!!! Another series taken from the Cardinals. Bring out the brooms for tomorrow!!!!
  11. 3 innings, 1 hit, 1 walk. I'm going to have to agree with you. Who would have thought that Novoa and Rusch would combine for 8 innings and 3 runs? Wow My player of the game is Pujols for leaving and denying the Cards of almost all of their power.
  12. Great job by our bullpen these last two days!! Let's go Cubbies! *clap clap, clapclapclap* Let's go Cubbies!
  13. Nevin has a huge power stroke. Also, what's up with Ramirez? I know he hit a Granny in this game and I should be happy, but he keeps popping up pitches to the infield just about every game.
  14. Cardinals might be desperate for power hitting 1B, we have Nevin...... This could be interesting.
  15.
  16. Alright cubbies!!! Let's tag some more runs on a beleagured bullpen!
  17. These guys just butcher the game. They really do. I mean....this is just disgusting. I can't beleive announcers are this bad.
  18. Any guesses for the next Cardinals player they decide to lavish praises on? My guess is Rolen.
  19. ARAMABOMB!!!!!! YES EYSE YES YES YES YES YES
