Yeah? So? The way he was pitching back then, there's no way he deserved to be pitching in the major leagues. I said it then, and I'll stand by it now. He had to get something resolved, he went to the minors again, sorted it out, and now he's pitching well and I couldn't be happier. No need to spoil the mood of the day with obnoxious "told you so" posts. He didn't sort it out in the Minors. He sorted it out by the Cubs giving him long enough to get over his confidence problems. Ironically, it would have never happened if it weren't for all the injuries and us being out of contention. Us Hill supporters beleived this, the naysayers didn't. You think his confidence problems were gonna be sorted out by being a TERRIBLE pitcher in the majors? That's WHY he went down to AAA was to give him a bit of a boost mentally and remind him of his past success. It's not like he was making just okay starts and then we're clamoring for him to get fired. He was BAD. Bad like a tuna cassarole left too long in the sun. How the hell is that going to solve his confidence problems? You leave him in there too long and it destroys what he has left of his confidence. You can try and make it an "us vs. them" thing, but all it does it make you look petty. We're all Cubs fans. I've never wanted Hill to do anything but kick butt. But whatever makes you sleep better at night...
