  1. jesus that was a bomb. that isn't vintage maddux.
  2. that would be the worst thing yet this year. To get my hopes up about Cedeno starting at SS and then scratching him at the last minute. :x No. The pregame interview is taped 2-3 hours before hand, meaning that Neifi was the one who was scratched. That is if I heard it right, of course. But I'm pretty sure Dusty had Neifi in the lineup and then complimented his play. i never knew the interview was taped that early. Alright then...wonder what Neifi was scratched for. crappiness
  3. I'm suprised Macias isn't starting. Seems like Dusty clears the bench whenever Maddux is pitching. Like against Milwaukee instead of trying to keep the wheels moving right before we lost 8 in a row. That being said Murton and Cedeno should be the regulars.
  4. i hate the astros far more than the cardinals. they have really a crappy team yet every year they play above their heads. Tavares-eh so so Biggio- decent 2b at this point Berkman- great hitter Ensberg- Good hitter Lane- eh Everett- eh Ausmus-crappy Burke- ha Their starting pitching is pretty good though. Hopefully Clemens will retire soon.
  5. Shocking that Phil Rogers would do that. And I'm with you, abuck. Only a fool like Rogers would give up on a 25 year old kid. He has produced in the majors, before this year's disaster. Rogers is one of the most over rated writers around. I hope the kid gets it turned around and soon. the few times I have talked with Corey when he was on his way up the first time at minor league games he was nothing but a cool guy. Even if Corey goes somewhere else to become a great player I will still cheer for him.
  6. no way I want the astros to sweep and us to sweep pittsburgh. I would love to make the division an option again. That would get us within 9 with what, 16 to play against the cards?
  7. damn kerry could be going for his 4th win if Glendon wouldnt have served one on a tee for overbay.
  8. Yeah, but how do you expect to get Hairston and Walker in the same lineup when they play the same position? It pretty much took a slumping Corey to be demoted for it to happen. I can't lay the blame on Dusty for that one. Stone should know that though shouldn't he? Hairston could have played LF (except that Todd "Holly" Bonds plays it). a creative manager might have also tried him at SS to see how that would have worked.
  9. Who cares? Nothing wrong with showing some personality at the plate. Lee does sort of a half hop, Burnitz tends to stand there for a second during his follow through, ARam flips his bat. No big deal, at all. Oh, I don't mind it at all. If you KNOW it's gone, I don't care if you do cartwheels to first base. But ARam has been catching heat for the bat flipping lately, so I was curious if he was still doing it. I know B&B were complaining about it along with him not running out a flyball. That's funny, too, because they make fun of football fans who say things like "act like you've been there before" after touchdowns. Being a soccer fan, I enjoy personality and passion, and if a player crosses the line, the opposing pitcher can always throw one inside.... Agreed. The bat flip is not that bad. If it annoys the pitcher so much, next time he shouldn't throw one over the heart of the plate. I wonder if those guys have a problem with Bonds or Edmonds standing and watching there homers? Everyone does it.
  10. Who cares? Nothing wrong with showing some personality at the plate. Lee does sort of a half hop, Burnitz tends to stand there for a second during his follow through, ARam flips his bat. No big deal, at all. One time, at a bar, I was doing my A-Ram bat flip and my arm hit a tray of beers and martini's the waitress was taking to our table. They smashed all over the ground. I am a complete idiot. ha did the waitress get mad or understand. I was like, "Holy S! I'm so sorry!!!" And she looked at my a little bit like this: http://www.makethemaccountable.com/podvin/images/CharlesMansonsEyes.JPG She wanted me dead. She kept sayign to my date "Oh, geez you got soaked (She didn't really). I'm sorry." in an attempt to ruin my mojo. Luckly my girlfriend knows what a huge stud I am despite this abberation. Sounds like she didn't get a tip. Hey I see you are from hot magma, you aren't Darth Vader by chance are you?
  11. Len makes a good point I guess, but then why isn't it applied to Corey when he was up. He was always a 3,4 hitter. Why does he have to bunt? Because he is faster?

  13. Not bad. I had D-Lee ;) I got DLEE in th 9th round in mine.
  14. yeah baby. man i hope we can do this all second half.
  15. I'd be very interested in Wilson. One concern is that he took a step back and hasn't returned to his 2003 form. And two is that he's been injury prone. My guess is he wouldn't cost too much in terms of prospects, but he'd also be a perfect emergency catcher, and would be another reason to get rid of Macias, who might end up being a perennial utility man for the Cubs since no other GM seems to value his game besides Hendry. He is a very solid OBP man as well. yeah I think he will be a great utility guy, can he still catch at all?
  16. yeah, come on Woody lets redo yesterday.
  17. He's the pitching equivelant of Corey Patterson *ducks* (only kidding...) no he isn't he's white. No way will Chicago turn on him like it has our players the past 4 years. Are you implying Cubs fans are racist? kinda makes one wonder. Alf Sosa Hawkins Patterson but as pointed out Hundley got it bad.
