A real major league team would use this chance to again get Angel Guzman in the rotation to judge if he can man a spot next year in the rotation. Finding out how many pitchers we need to pursue this off season. The Cubs, however, have decided to get Manboobs another start. -
Because part of me is just dumb enough to believe that 2003 wasn't that long ago.

The same reason Neifi Perez is not only on the team, but also starting. Because we are a joke.

and there is still people that want to extend him for 1-2 years. Maybe that's because they realize he will still be better than Sean Marshall. I think that they would be pretty similar next year. And Maddux will be way way more expensive, save the money and get some offense. Why, we won't do that right either.

Ha I see this is your first Cubs game with Dusty Baker as the manager. One of the main things to remember is you never take Neifi out, he saved us.

I'm about ready to see him on Broadway in pantaloons. I don't get it. Sure he's struggling against righties right now, but how's he going to ever learn if he gets platooned right away? He hasn't even played a full season. Not to mention who would we put out there??? Bynum? Mabry?? No thanks. Well I would like to see us trade with someone to improve our team. Aren't the Pirates about ready to trade Bay? lol.

One yesterday, one the day before. i can't even figure out what your point is in this thread. you seem to be saying that bunting is the key to corey's success this year, even though it's been shown that he bunted successfully at the same rate in 2004 (when he wasn't very good). Some people don't want to let facts get in the way for their hatred of Corey Patterson.

I'm sure he was already up and warming once Ohman retired Lopez in the 7th. Especially with Griffey and Dunn to follow. Makes sense for him to come into the game in that spot. There's plenty of time to get Guzman up during the last half inning, it was 6-2 after the first HR, and 8-2 after the second HR with only one out. Besides today, he's only pitched once in this series and that was on Friday. He'll be fine. Today makes twice in4 games by my count. I don't doubt that. I care about Guzman, who's going to rot away if he's not even going to be used in situations like this. I see what your saying. Certainly looks like he's not going to back into the rotation with Marmol's performance today. What, why the hell not? Rusch is very replaceable. I was speaking in terms of Wood's spot, which Marmol took today. Ok, but we need to get the forfeit out of the rotation still. At this point I would rather have those two in the rotation and Wood in the pen. -

dont think so, hes on the DL Isn't he due to come off this week though? As of a few days ago, I believe he was planning on starting against the Cubs. EDIT: He's going Tuesday. Crap who do we send out there against him?
