  1. Murton isn't starting against a lefty. Ridiculous. I am also loving that Bonds will start all three against us and will take days off against Milwaukee.
  2. All so Pujols could choke and hit into a inning ending double play. 1-0 FLA after 3 Yeah but eventually all the calls going to the cardinals will catch up with the marlins.
  3. after 5 strikes Ankiel draws a walk.
  4. Joe Buck comparing Hanley Ramirez to Edgar Renteria. Renteria can't hold Ramirez's jock strap.
  5. Yeah it may have been a poor one, but I tried to get across a point. Pujols may have been telling the truth, but it doesn't make him less of a jerk. The opinion is a matter of bias. In terms of human character, two incidents in which he criticizes the nature of an award within his profession and the skill of an opponent he just faced says much less about someone than one of the game's premier superstars having a reputation for being courteous and welcoming to its fans. He's a Cardinal, and he has enjoyed much success against the Cubs this weekend. That's why I hate him, and that's why you think his opinions make him a jerk. My brother is a huge Cardinals fan and he thinks he is jerk as well. He cringes everytime they interview him. Oh and my favorite player in all of baseball is Miguel Cabrera who killed us in '03, so it isn't just cause he does well against us.
  6. I'm guessing their fans would say Papi. Me too. For the Cubs, I'd go Z first Damn last year this could have been Neifi.

  8. 5.18 ERA, 1.50 WHIP. I'd say Cardinal Magic did not work on Mr. Weaver. I take it you missed the playoffs? I tried to avoid it, but yeah that's where the pixie dust kicked in with Weaver. Jeff fought it for as long as he could, but the dust was too powerful.
  9. In fairness to him, the MVP argument is a pretty divided one, and he voiced his opinion, which was biased in his own favor. What a jerk. He also said Marquis isn't that good, which obviously has absolutely no ring of truth to it whatsoever. Again, what a jerk. These opinions were both on matters directly related to him. I'd say the pleasant five minute conversation with a stranger and 15 minutes of autographs for fans, regardless of their loyalty, says a lot more about him than those expressed opinions. In fairness to him he could have tipped his cap to both guys, you know like a professional. You really think that is how DLee would have answered either of those questions? He's one of the top three hitters in the game, and the media hounds him for his opinions. He's not terribly outspoken (a la Sheffield or Artest), but if his give a [hoot] factor is low, he speaks the truth. Yes, he's not the solid professional that Lee is, but he simply expresses his opinions about his own profession. We've all got those opinions, and we all know what opinions are like, and everyone's entitled to not like him for it. I just think those reasons are pretty weak. It makes him a jerk. Much like a person who would say about a kid with cancer, who care he is going to die soon anyways. While it may in fact be true, it is a jerk thing to say.

  11. I don't hate Rolen. Always thought he was a pretty good guy. Those other guys can go to hell though. Pujols is about as good of a guy that you'll meet... still hate him. I ahve actually heard the opposite. The media tried to make him out to be one, but he really isn't. Wrong, I talked with him for about 5 minutes on opening day 2006 at Wrigley. He was extremely nice and signed autographs for about 15 minutes. What so in five minutes you could make that decision? I know he has done nothing but be an ass the last few years in the media. Like crying about Howard winning the MVP last year because he didn't make the playoffs. No you are right Albert he had to play in a real division. Or when asked about his ex teammate Marquis pitching well against him, he threw Marquis under the bus and said he wasn't all that good. The guy is a jerk. In 5 minutes he spent talking to me personally when most major league players won't give you the time of day especially at a visiting park (except David Weathers, he is a load of fun always). Yeah that really isn't true either. I go to games all the time in Kansas City and most players will talk to you. Justin Verlander signed for me this year and talked with me about his no hitter. Barry Zito signed for me and joked with me for a good 5 minutes about the Cubs being my favorite team. He even brought over Haren and Haren said that he was a Cub fan now that the Cardinals gave up on him. Well what else is there to do in KC? Go to the plaza. All the Yankees do.

  17. a little cub luck, that ball stays in the park.
  18. wasnt he on the base when he was tagged? edit, nope.
  19. Seriously he looks like a guy who would play on your softball team. He wouldn't be very good, but he would be there.
  20. It really is ridiculous. This team in Cubs unis would be 30 under. At least.
  21. God this cardinal team is a joke. Percival was retired and is doing well. Looper has pitched ok for them as a starter. Suddenly Molina is a decent hitter. Rick Ankiel is hitting. Brendan Ryan is hitting over .340. Every year it is the same crap.
  22. I don't know who concerns me more, but I will be cheering for the Brewers if we get eliminated.
