  1. Yeah, besides Zambrano, that was my big concern this year. Dempster has been a pleasant surprise, but the other three starters have been terrible in terms of being both good and efficient. Hill and Lilly will be fine. The other two I am not so sure about.
  2. If you can think of any crazy/elaborate plans for revenge, count me in. This is ridiculous. I wont give it away - but it has to do with Bud Selig, Ted Turner, two paper bags, matches, and dog doody. Don't put it out with your boots ted.
  3. and one of their scrubs jacks one after we show off our warning track power.
  4. I have never understood why they black out a road game. You can't just skip on down to Philadelphia and watch the game.
  5. They actually reissued those cards a couple of years ago. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a101/mikpence/img078.jpg
  6. I am driving to lawrence on May 9th to see him pitch. Can't wait.
  7. How about, we could have afforded to draft Porcello, but instead we screwed up another draft?
  8. 49-4 (37-3 in hoops, 12-1 in football.) Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk. i don't hate ku football so much as i hate ku basketball. i was happy ku was playing in a bcs game, so long as mizzou was in the cotton bowl. but i'm sure my illini will be back, outlasting self's jayhawks in the tourney in the next few years to come. Basketball-wise, the future looks good for both programs. But if we pick up X Henry and Daniel Orton, we might just win it again in 2009. I wonder if you have that good a football year again now that you have to play OU and Texa$? We'll still be good. I expect 8-4, maybe better. What you didn't schedule anyone in the preconference schedule again? I also thought that you lost your best player to the draft.
  9. Christ, I know we are beat, but how many times are they going to take strike three only to have it called a ball?
  10. Hart struck Howard out about 4 times there. But he was allowed to take 1st base.
  11. you see, this is where teams got smart against our young pitchers about 4 years back.. they just stretched them out. i swear managers told their players to try to foul as many pitches off in a row as they could--it was probably a game within a game. Yeah it really seemed to be the thing to do against Wood.
  12. What are you talking about? He's a .500 pitcher. He had an outstanding year last year, now he's making up for it with terrible play. wins and losses do not a good pitcher make True but he has had an average career (ERA+ of 102), even if he has had to face stiffer competition in the past in the AL East. he has looked bad, but i'd give him a little more time. everyone is starting to sound like lou around here. I am not worried the team we have to worry about is 1 game ahead of us right now. Eventually the Cardinals will play some big league teams.

  14. In all fairness, righties do slightly better against him than lefties. yes, but this doesn't mean you bench one of your best hitters. I think he was due for a day off anyways.
  15. Please, we are down one run with a team full of guys who can hit homers in this launching pad. We will have plenty of chances to score. We're down 2 runs with a team full of guys who are baffled by a great but not unhittable pitcher, not to mention our own pitcher whose likely not done giving up runs. If Hamels isn't great, I wonder who you would say is? Oh and Lilly has settled in pretty nicely. Pretty sure he said he IS great. Just not unhittable. Yeah I misread it. Sorry.

  18. At least you don't live here in it. One of my friends from work likes to remind me how elite they are every chance he gets. Now I bring up how elite I am based on our work reviews. He doesn't think that is as neat.
