  1. Why the hell isn't Edmonds in Center and Reed in left?
  2. The awesomeness of that combo would make the world explode. It's in the bible I think. By the way Aram's batflip was one of the most badass things ever. I think we are all safe, if the awesomeness of Z and Soto didn't so it we should be ok. But, I hear it is getting cool in hell.
  3. I think those runs you felt are coming this half inning.
  4. Have the Cubs utilized a LF yet this year that doesn't have that effect? johnson.
  5. I've been less than impressed with every possible aspect of Marquis. Even his haircut. eh i knew his pitching sucked, i had always heard he could hit.
  6. Has anyone else been less than impressed with Marquis as a hitter?
  7. They made him work a little that inning. If you keep that up Cain will have a short day and we won't have to deal with him anymore. Yeah, the strikeouts won't kill us if we battle him for them.
  8. They skipped him to get him one more start before the break.
  9. This freaking guy. Why the hell does he dominate us so much?
  10. i think he says it earlier to prevent this problem
  11. Yeah, you can't really judge a HS talent, till at least 3 yrs after HS. If they haven't started to hit their potential, then you have to worry. College players, on the other hand, are on a shorter leash, IMO. College players needs to come out hitting, once they sign or, they are behind the 8 ball. While I most certaintly won't call Colvin a "bust" yet, I have doubts he'll be anything more then a 4th OFer, right now. I hope he proves me wrong, tho. As for Vitters, how he finishes up this season, and how he plays next season, will determine his value either to the Cubs, or as a trade bait. Vitters could be, the LaPorta hot prospect for next yr's trade deadline, if Vitters continues to play like he has. Colvin was drafted out of college. Raisin wasn't he quite young for a college draftee though? I thought I read that was one of the things that Wilken liked about him. He had the youth on his side and had faced a high level of competition.
  12. It'd be a good choice for the Cubs to get Greinke, but I don't think the Royals are thinking of parting ways with him, especially when he has shown some improvement after his battle with depression/anexiety issues. And given with Dayton Moore's philosophy, which is pitching and defense, I doubt he will give up a young arm, but this is just me speculating. Anything is possible, I get that. But if I was the GM for the Royals, I would think Greinke would be almost untouchable, unless there is a deal that really blew me away that I may be tempted to take. Coach I have heard they are trying to lock him up like they did Soria and the Brewers did with Braun. I don't know how true that is, but like you have hear Moore is really set on the Atlanta model. I don't think we have what it takes to trade for him. That's one thing that been rumored around in the KC area that the Royals are wanting to lock up Greinke. Of course, there isn't anything written on stone yet, so anything is still possible. I know that KC desperately need some bats in their lineup, especially in the middle. Guillen can't do everything by himself, and unfortunately for KC, Billy Butler is looking to be a bust than a boom right now, and Mark Teahen is becoming more of a gapper player instead of that unexplained power that he showed in 2006. Although, we're already halfway through the season, and he has 9 HR's, which would round up to 18, give or take in a full season, provided he stays healthy. KC really need a 30-40 HR guy in the middle. But that's just my opinion. Another issue that I have aganist KC is that, for some unexplained reasons, that they still tend to keep around crappy players (i.e. Pena Jr really comes into mind) instead of DFA'ing them right on the spot. His numbers is worse than Neifi Perez, which I didn't even think it was possible to be more crappier than Neifi Freaking Perez! And what's even worse is that KC franchise has a freaking bobblehead for Tony Pena Jr, who is OPS'ing .380. Billy is still 22. They cannot move him yet. Have to give him time to perform. Teahan needs to go. He doesn't have the bat to play a corner outfield spot. I go to a ton of their games and am friends with a ton of their diehard fans, I feel for them. The team is still a mess. Although I still think Gordon is going to be a stud in a year or two. Hopefully The Mouse and the kid they drafted this year will develop into the mashers they need.
  13. I am man enough to say I was wrong on judging him way to early. Would have still preferred either Porcello or Weiters, but realize that Vitters isn't horrible.
