  1. Who's left? Samardzija is all I can think of. Is Stevens still here? I assume yes, because Dibble mentioned him. I haven't been following the transactions. Dibble also thought Keishnick dropped the flyball to cost us the Wildcard in 98 against Milwaukee during yesterday's telecast. I wouldn't trust him.
  2. This bullpen has put together the most dominating 2 months out of a bullpen that I think I have ever seen out of a Cubs team. They have simply been brilliant since late May. Tonight hasn't been their best night though. Hopefully Gregg can somehow get out of this one. I agree. Besides Heilman I am starting to like our pen. I don't know how you can watch Marmol and say that you like that. I think it's a freaking joke. Maybe it's worked for a couple months, that doesn't mean they're going to be good walking everyone and loading the damn bases all the time. Because I still have hopes he will snap out of it. Heilman won't.

  4. Nice work bum. Stupid to use him. Why have Shark up if you don't trust him in that spot.
  5. He had to have him, he went to Notre Dame.
  6. he's really not that bad just notoriously unimpressive and will blow up like 7-10 times a year which i guess is bad anyway whatever We still have to have guys better than him.
  7. We have to have guys in AA better than Heilman
  8. I'm gonna go with not having any one up in the pen in Game 6 during the 8th inning.
  9. and his BAA the last three years is like .150. he's so ridiculous when he just throws strikes... or even if he walks 1 man every 2 innings he's amazing. Is it possible that's why it is so low too though? Cause he is so wild?
  10. Dammit. That left on base is gonna bite us.
  11. What the hell Dayton Moore is thinking? He just promoted Eric Hosmer to High A. Based off the fact that he was struggling in Low A, isn't it fair to assume this is a ridiculous choice?
  12. Harrington. It was a no brainer to sign the contract with the $3 million bonus. its a cliche, but he is literally working at Wal Mart now. I thought it was Costco
  13. they'd have been like aaron boone and stuff if they played today. probably wouldn't even make it past like advanced A league or something. willie mays might have made it to AA, but even then, i totally don't know. those pitchers in the 50's who pitched against Mays only threw like 40 mph or something like that. Come on, he's right. Those fools then weren't even juicing. How could they possibly be as good?
  14. This is an amazing post.
  15. Trading a potential All-star center fielder that you have in your possession for the next 5 years, for a 32 year old starting pitcher who you only control for 1 year and 3 months, isn't a good way to build a team. I'd trade him for Wallace, Jones and anyone else they wanted in the minors, if it would be enough. Not sure it is. By time the deadline rolls around, the price tag of prospects may drop a little. Maybe. It could. I still think he's gonna be a Ranger. They have a ton of prospects they could give up for him. Hell a package of Smoak, Feliz, and a throw in should get it done and most teams can't match that.
  16. Actually he just is strange. He is far from arrogant. He has anxiety issues. He used to go up to people in the mall and ask if they would be his friend and try to swap phone numbers with him. That is a fact. By no means, he's a douche. He's just wired in a different way. But I couldn't care less what he wants to talk about or if he wants to find phone numbers, as long as he pitches like he is capable of. If you listen to him in person, you can understand that he's just wired differently, but at the same time, it's really funny. I feel bad for the guy, he was signing autographs for little kids early this year and they were all talking to him and he just doesn't know how to handle it. He usually rides in with someone. That day it was his dad, I was looking at him and you see even he was uneasy with how Zack acts.
