He plays a very active zone defense that doesn't let you chuck up 25 threes a game. He makes you beat him inside, and his zone does a decent job of collapsing on interior players With the talent difference that shouldn't matter.

And some poet named Perez!!!!!! And some other guy who's not significant, but hasn't been named yet either. But yes. It's a deal. So that's BA's #1, #4, #10 and #16 prospects in our system (a top 8 system before the trade). For Matt Garza. Kinda makes you wish that Hendry didn't have that lifetime contract, huh? It's what happens when you have a GM who fears for his job safety and is doing everything he can to save his job. I know, but it spits in the face of everything that the Ricketts have stated that they want to do. I really wish we would just move on to the next GM already. If we are even in the race this year I fear the type of deal Jim makes then. -

Great dude but he'll be behind Fukudome, Byrd and Colvin on the OF depth chart. Oh [expletive], it's that guy?!?!? He sucks, but this deal is suddenly awesome. He and Demp are gonna be amazing together.

We still have Wellington Castillo ready to come to the majors. You guys realize that we platooned Koyie Hill with Geo Soto right? No way is Wellington Castillo gonna stay in Koyie's way. Then why are you stating that this means Hill is back for sure? I doubt Chirinos is regarded that much more highly than Castillo and if Hill is guaranteed a spot with Castillo still around, he probably was with Chirinos around as well. True. I guess I thought with two of them there we would then take the better of those two. Now I assume we will get to spring training and Koyie will win Mike Quade's heart since he will be given a chance to.

Also anyone else think that by trading for Lee Tampa has admitted they don't view Tim Beckham very highly? Prolly should have picked Buster Posey.

I hope Tom realizes now if we win a playoff series and then play the Magic or Celtics or Hawks that Boozer won't be guarding anyone well then either. I also hope he doesn't bench him then. Boozer is what he is.

You think? It is, but it isn't like any of our guys are shooting way above what you would normally expect from them. We have a lot of good shooters. The highest on the team is DMac at 52%, I think he is near that as a shooter now that he isn't having to bail out the offense all the time like he had to in years past with a contested 25 footer. D.J. was the best shooter in the Big Ten last year so he's probably gonna keep this up, or be at least close to it.

Like last year? :D You really couldn't see the rationale behind picking up a 25 year old former top prospect who was coming off a couple down (but hardly disastrous) seasons, could be had for nothing, and could be stashed on the back end of the bench just to see if we don't luck into something? Not only could you not see that, but you felt it so absurd as to feel the need to mock everybody who believes in no risk gambles? You're either a professional sports writer, or you're a moron. Or both. Yeah who wants a Carlos Quentin? Or a Josh Hamilton? Those guys were done.

LOL, seriously? Am I the only one who thinks Jared Sullinger is gonna struggle big time in the NBA? I just don't think he has the type of explosiveness to be a great pro.

You know DMac is a senior, right? I'm aware. I just expected this level of play out of Demetri. I am enjoying the crap out of him, I really hope he gets a better shake than Frankie did in the League.
