  1. Bleeding Gums Murphy did a good job with that
  2. Only place I've seen that "rumor" was on a Mississippi State fansite which likes to fling things at the walls to see what sticks. However, it's certainly possible that the NCAA has uncovered a bunch of new allegations, but an NOA only comes after a joint investigation between the school and the NCAA, so if this were happening I'm sure it would already be known by everyone. There IS going to be a hit piece coming out tomorrow or the next day about Ole Miss by someone at Yahoo, probably Pat Forde.
  3. are you still bored dumbass? Blow me. Seager and his 350 footers bored me.
  4. Thank you ESPN for the preemptive muting
  5. Put some nets up along the length of the baselines like they do in Japan and give these dudes some -5 aluminum bats from the late 90's. Heck, that might even be dangerous for some dummies sitting in the outfield. Screw the potential for fan injury, I want to see Stanton hit a ball with that -5 trampoline effect.
  6. One of the crazy things in that documentary was when Nolan Ryan stated that he threw a 15 inning CG and had a pitch count over 250 and then 4 days later he threw another complete game. Guy was a complete freak.
  7. Interesting documentary about, well, fastballs. They have a physicist on there that claims that Nolan Ryan once threw a 108 mph pitch. They got that number because he was once recorded in 1974 throwing a pitch that was 100.8, but that the sensor picked it up just 10 feet from home plate, whereas modern readings are calculated at 50 feet from home plate. Using a similar technique they claim that Feller could hit 107 throwing his hardest and that Walter Johnson threw 93.8 (although it wasn't off a mound and he was wearing church clothes). Obviously I'm not a scientist, but is it possible that Ryan, as a young man, could throw harder than Chapman? Those numbers for Ryan and Feller seem absurdly high and I don't put much faith in them, although I do suspect that they could both throw low 100's in their primes.
  8. Syndergaard just left the game with an injury Ruh roh
  9. Effing rat. Comes from a whole family of rats
  10. So I think I have a pretty good portapotty story. My brother and I were coming back from seeing an LSU-Ole Miss football game in Baton Rogue and were quite literally in the middle of nowhere. My brother just screams at me "oh my god! pull over!!" I guess he was going to just go in the woods on the side of the road, but when I pulled over, there was a construction site there with a portapotty. So he hauled ass over to it. Now this is in the pitch dark, mind you. Anyways, so not long after he goes in, I hear him yelling for me. Apparently he didn't want to actually sit on a gross portapotty toilet so he rapidly pulled his pants down, squatted, and erupted. Unfortunately, in his haste and because it was pitch dark, he didn't realize the lid on the toilet was down and it all just blew back at him, filling up his pants that were pulled down and getting on his shirt. Just awful. And oh ya, there was no TP either. Thankfully we had stayed the previous night in Baton Rogue so he had an extra set of clothes he could put on. I've often thought about some poor construction worker opening that thing the next day. Yikes.
  11. iiiiiiiiiiiiii, I feel aliiiiiiiiive Cmon Zobes
  12. He'll give you a big league at-bat every time off the bench, but beyond that he can't do much anymore it seems.

  16. I missed it. What did Joe just do?
  17. Doing some more investigating on this 3 HR game thing because that just seems so crazy that it hadn't been done before (and indeed it has not) and I came across the fact that Sosa had three 3 HR games in 2001. Oh, and Aramis had 4 career 3 HR games.
  18. So just hit 3 more HR tonight Kris and you'll have the record for most HR in consecutive games. Easy peasy.
