  1. How do you figure? Our offense is ranked higher than your defense, and our defense is ranked higher than your offense. Besides, the Bears were DEAD LAST in strength of schedule this year. The Saints were 3rd highest. You beat a team in the Seahawks who were ranked 19th in the NFL and had lost 3 of their last 5 games, and only beat the Cowboys because Romo messed up. Whereas the Saints beat the Eagles, the 9th ranked team in the NFL, who had won their last 6 games.
  2. Saints defense is weak? They are 11th in the NFL, and over the last 5 regular season games, not including the throwaway Carolina game where our starters only played one series, the Saints have only given up an average of 12.6 points per game. Over that same 5 game stretch, not including the throwaway game against the Packers, the Bears defense gave up 21.8 points per game. Less than a month ago, the Bears defense gave up 31 points to the 29th ranked offense in the NFL. Kinda like the Bears barely eeked out a win against the Seahawks? The Eagles had the 2nd highest ranked offense in the NFL; Seattle the 19th ranked offense. That's why.
  3. His house would be burned to the ground, his kittens stomped, and he'd be thrown into the river with alligator bait wrapped around his body if he did that. Not happening.
  4. He's listed as questionable, as usual. However, because Joe Horn knows how much he means to the Saints, and because he knows that this is the biggest game in franchise history, I'd expect him to make every effort to play. The cold certainly won't help the situation though, as he'll have a tough time stretching that hamstring in the cold. Unfortunately, I don't think Joe will be back next year. With the young crop of receivers the Saints have now (Colston, Henderson, and Copper), I'm not sure if the Saints will be picking up Joe's contract, which is worth about 5m a year now. I hope they do though, because he's still such a huge impact player.
  5. as opposed to what? You think Saints fans are going to be hand-wringing and sweating bullets? Ya, we're nervous, but we have to express confidence and get behind our team. When I see confident Bears fans I don't think "hah! look at those overconfident fools", rather I think that they are just big Bears fans who support their team. Honestly, I think there's a lot of Bears fans hand-wringing and sweating bullets though. That was my point. At this point I think Saints fans as a whole are more confident (rightly or wrongly) about this game than Bears fans as a whole. And just to note, I never said anything about them being overconfident. I was just pointing out that they were pretty confident. Fair enough. Frankly, I'm terrified about having to go play in Chicago. It makes me sick to my stomach to think about it. I have a serious feeling that I'm probably going to be so nervous before the game on Sunday that I'll vomit. The Saints are such a huge part of my life, even more so than my fanatical devotion to the Cubs, in large part because I'm so close and actually go to alot of the games. For all the tough talk coming from Saints fans, I can guarantee you that most are scared sh*tless, as I am.
  6. Well, don't you dare think that Saints fans give a crap about the feel good story. It pisses us the hell off. Most of my friends and I were born Saints fans and raised diehard Saints fans who follow all the stats, players, and watch every game, etc. It sucks to have the attention diverted away from a good football TEAM and focused on a good STORY. As Cubs fans, we've followed their stats, players, schedules, and scores for years and years now, just waiting for the time when we can revel in the fact that we have a good team and look forward to something good coming from the Cubbies. What if all that patience and devotion were suddenly thrown to the wind thanks to a "feel good story". It's bullcrap.

  8. Whatever. I'll have the last laugh anyways.
  9. How I define irony: Nothing ironic about it. Trolling was put in quotes because I had just been called a troll in this thread.
  10. I've been called a troll several times in this thread already and I don't appreciate that. That is why I wanted a separate thread.
  11. I figured that would go over well. Well for all of us Saints fans this is the first time we've ever been to this place before. I mean, imagine if this was the first time in franchise history that the Bears got to an NFC Champ. game. I grew up with the Saints and have loved them my whole life, and I'm sure a good many other southerners on this board feel the same way. But whatever.
  12. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO on locking the Saints thread!!
  13. For what it's worth, Drew Brees is averaging 306 yards and 2 td's outside of New Orleans this year.
  14. Deuce averages 15 carries a game, 66 yards, 4.3 ypc, and 2 receptions for 12 yards. Bush averages 10 carries a game, 35 yards, 3.6 ypc, and 5.5 receptions, 46 yards.
  15. Deuce is averaging 17 carries, 62 yards, and 3.7ypc with 1 touchdown, and 1.5 receptions for 10 yards in his 6 games on grass this year. Bush is averaging 12 carries, 44 yards, and 3.6ypc, and 5 receptions for 42 yards in his 6 games on grass.
  16. At least I said IF the Bears are losing. That's probably a good idea actually.
  17. How was yesterday close to the MVP Alexander? He had 108 yards on 26 rushes with 2 touchdowns and one reception. Deuce had 143 yards on 21 carries with a touchdown, plus 4 receptions with a touchdown. Add onto that Bush who had 55 rushing yards with a touchdown and 3 receptions. If I was a team I'd rather face one one-dimensional superstar who missed most of the season than two two-dimensional stars who've both had stellar full seasons.
  18. Well, Drew Brees is used to playing in the cold after his time at Purdue. As a southerner myself who usually played his sports in warm weather, I can attest to the fact that it does matter a bit. However, in the games where I've played baseball in frigid temps (road trips normally), your adrenaline is so high that it doesn't affect you as much as you would think it would. That said, the temperature is the main thing that scares me....and oh ya, Devin Hester.
  19. Saints offense is ranked higher than the Bears defense and the Saints D is ranked higher than the Bears offense. The weather is going to be the toughest thing for the Saints in my opinion. The Bears D is better than the Saints D, and the Bears offense outscored the Saints offense this season. The Bears are going to be the toughest thing for the Saints to deal with, not the weather. Bears D is on the way down while the Saints is on the way up. Over the last 7 games, including our throwaway game against the Panthers, the Saints D has only allowed 17 points per game. While in that same span, the Bears have given up 19. Plus, Bears had THE easiest schedule according to strength of schedule in the entire NFL this year. Saints had the 3rd hardest. I'm sure if the Saints got to play the Lions and Vikings twice this year they would have put up alot MORE points.
  20. Just curious cuz I know nothing of Gould, but if he sucked how did he get to the NFL?
  21. That's ridiculously ambitious, especially considering that in your last 3 regular season games, not counting the meaningless Green Bay game, your pass defense gave up an average of 302 yards and 3td's. Now you are going up against the No.1 passing game in the NFL. It'll be a very tough game for both sides and it'd be foolishly naive to make predictions that one side is going to crush the other. They are the 1 and 2 teams in the NFC for a reason.
  22. Saints offense is ranked higher than the Bears defense and the Saints D is ranked higher than the Bears offense. The weather is going to be the toughest thing for the Saints in my opinion.
  23. Aren't they ripping off the "Who Dey?" of last year's Bengals? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. The Bengals are the ones who ripped it off. "Who Dat?" comes from a song that came out in 1981 called "Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints?" The 1981 Saints went 4-12. I think everybody said they would beat the Saints. that's kinda the point, it's a joke.
  24. Aren't they ripping off the "Who Dey?" of last year's Bengals? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. The Bengals are the ones who ripped it off. "Who Dat?" comes from a song that came out in 1981 called "Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints?" Wikipedia disagrees with you. They say it was a Bengals song in 1981, and Who Dey is also the name of the Bengals mascot apparently. That's complete malarkey. Seriously. "Who dat" is a FAMOUS FAMOUS Saints song. Bengals fans love to say that crap.
  25. Aren't they ripping off the "Who Dey?" of last year's Bengals? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. The Bengals are the ones who ripped it off. "Who Dat?" comes from a song that came out in 1981 called "Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints?" I'd like to thank the 2 of you for making me feel old. Why are you thanking me? I'm the one who informed him about the past.
