  1. Dick Pole is the second best name in the MLB. The first being Rusty Kuntz.
  2. Lot of joke accounts popping up lately.
  3. Inevitably there will be some left at the park after the game.
  4. It's pretty unlikely that "hustling" out of the box is really going to mean the difference between a double and a triple. The instances where it actually would make a difference are probably few.
  5. They'll just hand them to kids I suppose.
  6. Did you miss where I said that I understand that they are going to be outmatched most all of the time at the plate? My point was that they often times look completely clueless up there, without a hint of athleticism, as if they've completely forgotten how to swing a bat. It's like I know that you are going to strike out, but at least do so with some dignity. Some pitchers don't even appear to be trying.
  7. That's a hell of a user name.
  8. I'll be there and I'll see if I can get one.
  9. No. We may as well have Darren Daulton playing left field with the way that Bonds moves these days.
  10. Still, I've never understood why so many of them look completely foolish up there. I have no problem with the concept of pitchers just being overpowered by pitching since they don't spend much time hitting, but you'd think that they could at least strike out with a smidgen of athleticism. Some of them look like they've never swung a bat in their entire lives.
  11. whew, at least I wasnt the only one to notice the mispellings that existed on top of the dreadful grammar. props to the wolfman irony I'm not one to usually criticize someone's grammar. But, if you're going to do it, you should do it without using sentence fragments, and you should capitalize your sentences. Not to mention, "whew" isn't a word. I'm just saying, you might want to watch what you criticize other people for. You just might be doing the same thing yourself. "Can't get not now no seconds on no shrimps!" Heard a Cajun cook tell me that once at a crawfish boil.

  13. Does the fact that someone happens to be black make them immune from ridicule? Aside from some Yanr posts of yesteryear, that was the most unintelligible post I've ever read on this forum in FIVE years. Seriously...posting a picture of a grammar book after a syntax disaster like that is racist?
  14. This is going to be so much fun on "Da Lounge".
  15. Hmmm, you don't recall me bringing it up numerous times with CubInNY or Hardcorecubsfan? I even outright asked CubInNY if he was dyslexic once because of it. lol
  16. why do you care so much about grammar all of the sudden? You're a funny guy sometimes.
  17. http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/5540/grammarkv8.gif what's your point? My point? I posted a picture of a grammar text book. What the heck do you think my point is? That post makes a hardcorecubsfan fan post look like a Noam Chomsky essay. It reads like one of those fourth grade Grammar class problems where you have to fix the paragraph.
  18. I'm a big fan of Rose's and his style of play and think he should be in the HOF, but at the end of his career he became the epitome of a stat compiler. He hung around and inserted himself into his own lineup for the sole purpose of getting the record. This was often at his team's own expense because Tony Perez was still hitting .328/.396/.470 in 1985. His last 4 seasons he had 107 hits, 121 hits, 107 hits, and 56 hits and batted a combined .253/.346/.303 and had a whopping 2 home runs in his last 1,748 plate appearances (all of this while playing first base). For comparison, his career numbers are .303/.375/.409. Regardless, he only has 67 more hits than Cobb and did it in 2,619 more AB's. Rose got hammered in The Diamond Appraised by Craig Wright.
