  1. If you ever wanted to hear what Harry sounded like when he was much younger, listen to his call of Ken Boyer's World Series grandslam in 1964: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vj2z5L04hqI
  2. No kidding. Net Yards: Ole Miss 391, Vandy 202. No reason to lose that game. that joke of a team in Oxford had SEVEN turnovers....plus Vandy had a goal line stop on a fourth down AND later in the game caused a fumble and recovered on the freaking one yard line. It's amazing that Ole Miss had SEVEN turnovers and still only lost by 6. I'd rather get whipped like a bitch like Miss St. or Arkansas did than have to lose like that.
  3. Just came across this wonderful shot I'd never seen before of Napoleon Lajoie and Honus Wagner in 1904. That season Lajoie put up a line of .376/.413/.552, 205 OPS+ and the Dutchman put up .349/.423/.520, 187 OPS+. Not bad for two middle infielders. http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/121/attachmentgj1.jpg
  4. Warren Edward Spahn: - 363 career wins - Thirteen 20+ win seasons - Two no-hitters - Missed three seasons during WWII. Fought in Battle of the Bulge and Bridge at Remagen. Received two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/6996/spanthrowinggs5.gif photos inside spoiler:
  5. Fun fact: more Americans were involved in that battle than any other battle in American history. We had over 600,000 troops involved of which 75,000+ became casualties.
  6. Not yet. He's on my list though....very cool guy. He was a decorated combat veteran of the Battle of the Bulge.
  7. Wow....I'm jumping up and down just watching the replay of him finish it off. [expletive] Awesome.
  8. Robert William Feller aka Rapid Robert: - Oldest living Hall of Famer at age 89 - 348 K's in 1946 - First baseball player to join the service after Pearl Harbor - Struck out 76 batters in 62 IP at age 17 http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/7200/fellergifjb3.gif photos in spoiler: Great video collage of Feller pitching. Make sure to watch at the end to see Hank Greenberg being made to look a fool by 17 year old Feller: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAm5fwb1Psw
