  1. That park is absurdly huge. Dude just crushed a ball and didn't even reach the track.
  2. It's visually pretty odd looking to see a Big Ten team in a serious baseball game.
  3. And our starter is at 130 pitches to start the 9th. We're not talking about softball are we?

  5. Who is that guy? He seems pretty cool.
  6. Chipper will get in too Strawberry would have been the first if he hadn't been such a screwup.
  7. He went to Minnesota at 78. What the.... Must have been in the bathroom or something.
  8. Stuart Turner next round for us? 381/.452/.533/.986 for an SEC catcher with exceptional defense. Not bad.
  9. Wahl's Ole Miss teammate RHP Mayers went to Cards at 93. Seriously wondering if Wahl is coming back at this point.
  10. Wondering why Ole Miss' Bobby Wahl has not been drafted yet. 10-0, 2.03 ERA, 97.2 IP, .197 opp ba Raisin?
  11. C is the weakest position on the farm. Turner is being projected as a 2nd/3rd rounder. Would we take a catcher that high?
  12. Don't follow the farm system much. How are we stacked at catcher? I'd love to see the Cubs take Stuart Turner, Ole Miss' stud catcher. .381/.452/.533/.986 is a pretty ridiculous line for a catcher in the SEC. He also threw out 51% (21 of 41) base runners this year.
  13. Ty Cobb beat this kid by a century. he certainly would have beat him a century ago / Was just about to post that about Cobb. He so thoroughly had all the sportswriters in the country convinced of his talent, sight unseen, that even Grantland Rice wrote a big column about him. When the 18 year old Cobb later confessed that he had written the hundreds of letters, postcards, and telegrams praising himself, he said it was because he "was in a hurry." That story about Montaous is a great read. It's kind of surprising he didn't improve his grammar along with his ability. "toronto blue jays"...seriously?
  14. Dude's batting stance from Coastal Carolina...wtf http://s3-ec.buzzfed.com/static/enhanced/webdr03/2013/6/3/12/anigif_enhanced-buzz-14054-1370276619-10.gif http://s3-ec.buzzfed.com/static/enhanced/webdr03/2013/6/3/12/anigif_enhanced-buzz-6657-1370276617-28.gif
  15. Beltre is very quietly putting together a HOF-worthy career with his stats.
  16. This one FTW. http://i.imgur.com/OkP38ug.gif
  17. Definitely wasn't aware of this in 1967 the Yankee's traded Maris to the Cards. As part of the signing bonus, August Busch Jr. gave Maris the sole rights to distribute Anheuser Busch products in an 8 county territory in/around Gainsville, FL. Maris played only two years for the Cards. In 97 Busch had enough and tried to get out of it, but Maris' family seemingly came out pretty good: http://www.gainesville.com/article/20050825/LOCAL/50825017

  19. My guess is that he was white. I'm not sure that argument has much validity. 9 of the previous 13 NL MVP's had been black. Also, the ROY award went to black players 9 of the previous 13 NL seasons.
  20. Hank had a 9.5 WAR that year and Miggy at 7.3 Also, how did Dick Groat get more votes for MVP that year than Hank? http://www.baseball-reference.com/awards/awards_1963.shtml#NLmvp
