  1. Isn't Macias' .280 OBP pretty lousy?
  2. http://espn-i.starwave.com/media/pg2/2001/1206/photo/clubber_lang_i.jpg Mr. T is on our side. How can we lose?
  3. If soft hitter means guy who gets on base more than a third of the time, I have to disagree. You counting walks not his hits. He is a very soft hitter. Let me ask you a simple question, if he is so good why haven't all the contenders tried to trade for him? The Cubs would gladly trade him. they aren't keeping him at Iowa for the future. People just don't consider him a major league hitter, not walker. Dusty? Is that you?
  4. You mean, he's good friends with Smoltz and doesn't want the Cubs to score off him?
  5. Are you trying to defend Dusty's decision to put Macias in the 2 spot in the lineup or am I misunderstanding your post?
  6. Good. Hopefully this game gets called, Dusty gets fired and we see an actual major league lineup tomorrow. Although, it might be kind of funny to see Smoltz laughing to himself when he faces Neifi Perez and Jose Macias to start the game.
  7. July 6th - puts out an insane lineup destined to get shut out... N. Perez SS 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .269 J. Macias 2B 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .264 T. Walker 1B 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .288 A. Ramirez 3B 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .304 T. Hollandsworth LF 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .283 J. Burnitz RF 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .276 M. Barrett C 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .257 C. Patterson CF 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .232 M. Prior P 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .222 ....
  8. Just look at this lineup he has for tonight: N. Perez SS 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .269 J. Macias 2B 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .264 T. Walker 1B 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .288 A. Ramirez 3B 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .304 T. Hollandsworth LF 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .283 J. Burnitz RF 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .276 M. Barrett C 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .257 C. Patterson CF 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .232 M. Prior P 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .222 That's right. He has two players with OBP's under .300 hitting 1 and 2 in the lineup. He is an idiot, plain and simple, or he is trying very hard to get fired.
  9. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Neifi and Jose Macias, 1 and 2. I repeat, Neifi Perez and Jose Macias are hitting 1 and 2 in our lineup. Neifi: .295 on base percentage Macias: .280 on base percentage Unbelieveable. Simply unbelieveable.
  10. I don't trust Levine much at all, but if he's right, I sure wouldn't mind Baez on this team. He'd be a solid addition to this team as a set-up man or maybe even a 7th inning guy. I'd rather we stay from MacDougal or Affeldt. And Hendry, stay away from Preston Wilson, please!
  11. Perez at leadoff is a problem. Perez batting 8th is a good idea. Cedeno starting and Neifi on the bench is an even better idea.
  12. http://images.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/_photos/2003-07-07-inside-baker.jpg "I don't want to get into that. I said what I was going to do and that's what I'm doing."
  13. How 'bout CPat for Rick's shorts? Sure, works for me.
  14. I don't think even Bhogg can help this team out.
  15. Actually, he was fired on July 5th, and yeah, it was during a series in Atlanta.
  16. What did Ronny say? He wants a deal to be made?
  17. Actually, I think we need a left fielder too.
  18. Wow, Corey. Can you lay off ANYTHING out of the zone?
  19. A small snippet of this article: What could we possibly get for Patterson from the Nats?
  20. Not necessarily. What if I told you that the Cubs were eyeing Carl Everett? I would hope that you are kidding.
