That does seem to indicate some independant verification, but the front page article link missing from latimes.com sure is weird. There is a link to it from the front page.

Actually, if you go to the Latimes.com home page and look under the ''More news'' section, there's a link to the article saying Furcal is a Dodger.

Hmmmmm... Who else sees a "Furcal to Cubs at 5/48" story coming? Heh.. yeah but I seriously don't see the other story on there anymore. Just the one about the offer to Furcal.
