    I knew Washington was a bit under valued. But MSU getting throttled and their pass defense looking worse than last yr. Not good. I suspected 4th in the East when the season started, and that's where they will probably end up

    Indiana came back to win, but oooooof Since PSU dominated, if MSU wins tonight the B1G had a good day. The other stuff really won't matter in the end

    Not only that but their first team defense hasn’t given up a point yet this year. 17 points in 3 games all in garbage time with backups. But trying to not get ahead of myself though. People think I’m nuts for worrying about the game at Kinnick in 2 weeks but that’s an absolute house of horrors for Michigan and while the talk is rightfully about the Iowa offense their defense has only given up 13 points and they’ve played a solid P5 team. If the defense can show up against Michigan and punch them in the mouth for the first time all year then it could end up being a nerve wracking game at the very least. Then it’s taking care of business at home against PSU and MSU. PSU looks solid and MSU is a thorn in Harbaughs side. I love what I’ve seen so far though I am not sure anyone not named Georgia is good enough to go undefeated in the B1G East

    I always thought he was one of the most underrated big 4 pro athletes of my life. I think someone on here even questioned if he was a HoFer a few yrs ago.

    I feel like that was a huge overpay for a mariners team that's at least into next year until they are truly threatening Their playoff drought is nearly old enough to drink, the rules are a little different for them Doesnt Castillo have another year of control anyway?

    I really feel like he was a bit lost for awhile after the league made their adjustments to him. But he looks a lot better now. I feel like he will be a very productive piece going forward.

    how does the Cap situation work if the Hawks trade Kane or Toews? If the Hawks retain half of their salary or so, do they retain half the cap hit as well? Its been so long that the Wings have been relevant or have cap issues I have completely lost track of how it works. But If the Hawks were to retain some or a lot of Kanes salary and cap hit, I would imagine he would get quite the haul in return if they trade him sooner rather than later

    Whenever I turn the Cubs on and they are winning I immediately turn it off, it can only get worse is what I figure

    I really do not understand the not tendering Dylan Strome thing? Couldnt they have at least signed him and have a potential trade chip at the deadline as opposed to just nothing

    I think the Hawks mistake was wanting a high draft pick in this draft for DeBrincit. It limited the pool of potential suitors. I think they could have been more patient and be willing to take a couple of good prospects and possibly a pick in next years draft and they may have gotten a better deal. It seemed like they were very focused on picking early tonight for some reason which limited them to Philly and Ottawa as the only 2 legit trade partners. I also think that a lot of Hawks fans expectations for what they were going to get for DeBrincit was too high, not that they got enough, just some of what I was reading and hearing was pretty unlikely.

    I would assume that the remainder of the PAC 12 and Big 12 have got to be talking merger of some sort....after the BIG and SEC pick some more of their scraps

    I think the Madrigal trade, regardless of what you think of him as a player, is a useful template in this vein. Find the worthwhile target that's hurt on a competitor and you can use both MLB pieces and some of the Rule 5 crunch guys to achieve that end. Also, while I like the wholly inclusive look at the candidates involved, I think there's a fair number of potential guys that can be left exposed without a ton of risk. Clarke, Thompson, basically everyone in that last MLB list save for maybe Hill or Little, it's all players who have swingman/middle relief or platoon upside if things break right. So while it's worth the thought to maximize your assets, in deadline deals it's a tiebreak consideration compared to getting the return you most believe in. I have always wondered why some teams aren't buyers even if they are not competing that season. It seems like a waste of an opportunity to improve your team if the right players are available. I am pretty sure the Cardinals picked up Scott Rolen at the deadline in a season that they were not competitve

    Out of the 4 teams left, Tampa is probably the most boring to watch.
