  1. The Mets will pay Bonilla $1.2 million annually for the next 25 years despite him not having played for them since 1999 or in the big leagues since 2001. http://www.sportingnews.com/mlb/story/2011-05-16/mets-will-be-paying-bobby-bonilla-for-next-25-years
  2. This has to put them as favorites in the West next year, right? Bama and Ark right there also? TSN has their way too early preseason rankings out for next year. They put the Hogs at 4th. In the country. Maybe a bit early for all that.
  3. I see his floor as Jake Locker, another mobile QB who was supposed to be the next big thing.
  4. This. And I thought this well before this game. Most of his throws are to wide open receivers (that he often doesn't even hit in stride) or quick passes to receivers who get the ball in space and pick up YAC. He's just not a very good NFL QB prospect from what I've seen. To be fair I've probably only watched about 5 or 6 of his games. But I highly doubt he ever becomes a franchise quarterback. With all of this. He just misses a ton of the tough, pro-style throws IMO.
  5. Ok. What I was thinking was that the NCAA is far more lenient these days in offering exemptions. They seem to let everyone play right away.
  6. Unless he's transferring out of Division 1, he'd have to sit out a year and be two years from the draft. Right but he'd sit a year, then play a year and be like every other 5th year draft eligible QB. Though transferring to a top FCS program would be an interesting move. I REALLY think that's not a rule anymore. He is immediately eligible.
  7. That's quite something to say about a guy with 3 career games. Yeah, but I've seen plenty of games with Marriota to think he won't be all that special in the pros.
  8. Cardale will be a better pro than Marriota, IMO. Maybe the combine will make that apparent.
  9. West coast market share>>>us getting to work in the morning.
  10. Pitt just hired Arkansas OC Jim Chaney as their new HC. Hog fans are probably offering to help him pack and drive him to the airport.
  11. I first fell in love with Cam after he stole laptops from his teammates. After his end zone celebrations with his team down by 20 and pouting every press conference I was hooked.
  12. Congrats guys. I'm not pretending to be too far in the know, but the Saints reporters I am buddies with all say this is a huge loss for the Saints FO. Loomis is the cap guy, Pace was the talent evaluator who too often got overruled by Payton. Supposedly he was the one of the most respected voices in the room at a young age, and most wished he had been given more control in personnel going forward. Marrone was sorely missed when he left too.
  13. Whoah, as in who is the better WR? If that's the question then there really isn't a comparison between an almost uncoverable receiver and a guy who has barely played in 2 years and wasn't close to the best player on the field when he did. To the Winston question, I have to wonder if the Manziel fiasco will spook teams from making a questionable character QB a high draft pick, rightly or wrongly. I can see him falling to Houston or KC late in the 1st round.
  14. Yep. It reminds me a bit of Byron Leftwich. Nice comp. He still scares me with the Bucs though, but no way he goes #1 to them. Marriota won't be good for a few years if at all and the Saints will be in full rebuild mode by then. Dak Prescott is more of a Tebow, IMO.
  15. That can't be right. I've heard 1.7 million a season which is basically 3 years/ $5M It can't be, I agree, but WDSU here is running with that verbatim.
  16. WDSU-TV reporting it is done deal. Contract is 3 yrs/$15M. That's right, $5M per season for a DC. LSU countered with $4M per but he declined.
  17. Rumors are rampant here that DC Chavis is leaving LSU for aTm. Les certainly sounded like that is the case in the post bowl presser. It makes sense for the Aggies-proven track record, gets players to the NFL, same recruiting territory. If it is bad for LSU it makes me happy. Just don't cone after Robb Smith from Arkansas now.
  18. Barf. Best joy since VJ day?
  19. On my phone so can't post but a meme on FB today: Oklahoma-worst bowl since dust.
  20. Myself and Jim Beam agree with this post. J Williams has already said he's returning and hopefully Philon does the same on the D Line. The recruiting class has crept into the top 20 with more interior lineman and speed at wideout. Our big QB recruit has taken advantage of the new rule allowing early grads to participate in bowl practices, and by all accounts has looked really good. And growing up in the SWC days, goddamned do I despise Texas. We held them to 59 total yards and 2 yards rushing. It's good to beat those arrogant fucks.
  21. Oakland seems like a good fit. He'll get a chance to draft a nice piece for his D right off the bat and the QB already looks to be in place. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk You could say the same thing about Atlanta, except the offense is much better and a known commodity. Nm, misread.
  22. Listed as doubtful to return tonight, so maybe encouraging that he's not definitely out.
  23. Saints went from pick 8 to 13 because of a late pick and last minute comeback.
  24. Draft order for non-playoff teams are set mostly: 1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2-14 2 Tennessee Titans 2-14 3 Jacksonville Jaguars 3-13 4 Oakland Raiders 3-13 5 Washington Redskins 4-12 6 New York Jets 4-12 7 Chicago Bears 5-11 8 Atlanta Falcons 6-10 9 New York Giants 6-10 10 St. Louis Rams 6-10 11 Cleveland Browns 7-9 12 Minnesota Vikings 7-9 13 New Orleans Saints 7-9 14 Miami Dolphins 8-8 15 San Francisco 49ers 8-8 16 Houston Texans 9-7 17 Kansas City Chiefs 9-7 18 or 19 Cleveland Browns 7-9 via trade from Buffalo 18 or 19 San Diego Chargers 9-7 tiebreaker undetermined 20 Philadelphia Eagles 10-6
  25. Not sure which is more unlikely.
