  1. CB Brandon Browner to the Saints, 3/$15M with $10M guaranteed. Still pursuing the other CB target Williams from the Packers. G Ben Grubbs traded to the Chiefs for draft picks. LB Humber resigned. The retooling continues.
  2. Yeah, I would never claim that 2014 Brees was a top 5 QB, but apparently it was imperative that I be shown how he's not. To your point, I think this rationale went into what Loomis and Payton were thinking as well. Payton thinks that between his scheming and Brees' play he will score points, Graham or no Graham. He looked at who's winning in January and knows he needs to get stronger on both lines of scrimmage and get better on defense, which is only one facet of Graham for Unger.
  3. oh geez, a QB who got pressure, that never happens. Nice generalization. Look into it for 5 minutes and you'll realize that the 5'11" Drew Brees is deadly when he has time to set his feet and doesn't have pressure up the middle. Make him scramble and he is below average at this point in his career. Russell Wilson he is not. HAHAHAHA. Yeah, I really need to do some research to realize that when everything was set-up perfectly for Brees he was great. Thanks for the heads up. Just no. I am saying that good pass protection is more important for a shorter, older touch passer like Brees than your generalization suggests. More important than a badass TE who is often injured and has questionable toughness.

  5. I disagree. The Pats used Talib to show the rest of the NFL a formula for taking him out of games. Rough him up early and he mentally checks out. Plus he's a poor run blocker and has had aligator arms ever since Gholston took him out in the TB game. By no means am I trying to say he won't be missed, but given the huge need at C and the first round pick I don't think the net loss is as great as one might initially think. Drew clearly plays better when he isn't rushed up the middle and he remembered to spread the ball better when Graham was out. Clearly the Saints offense will be Cooks, Stills and a heavy dose of Ingram going forward, and I am interested to see how it goes. Fwiw, local reports here are that Payton and Loomis were none too happy with Graham last year. There were reports of him being a real "me" guy in the locker room, ducking reporters after losses, complaining about stats and still moping late in the year about not getting paid like a top WR. Then he played in the Pro Bowl to as he said, "test out his shoulder" which really pissed off Payton. Whatever is true, they clearly have made a concerted effort to change the culture in the locker room. This wasn't a cap move either. The savings were negligible.
  6. Nothing good has ever come out of the cesspool that is Panama City Beach. I'll bet there's a college bar fight every 5 minutes.
  7. Rumors were that Ingram's agent was starting negotiations at $5M per. Nice to see. Now if Drew would budge on reworking his deal the Saints might be able to sign a CB or O-line help.
  8. I agree with the amorphous blob comment, seems that way most years with the SEC, but fwiw Ole Miss has a win at Oregon which is pretty comparable to LSU's win at WV. Um yeah, the SEC is bad, but Arkansas is a lock and projected as a #4 seed by many.
  9. Just a heads up, you included Schwarber in the poll again.
  10. Zing!
  11. This makes sense, but what about breaking up the cluster of hitters in the 6-8 slots? Any benefit of a non-pitcher leading off an inning is negated by a pitcher coming up to bat with RISP. If your 6-7 hitters suck I can maybe understand better.
  12. Francisley Bueno wins best name of Spring Training.
  13. http://memedepot.com/uploads/2000/2339_bye.jpg And with a whimper, the Josh Vitters chapter with the Cubs comes to a close. Well, it was closed anyway, but whatever.
  14. To each their own, but I HATE this. Why does everything have to be a nation now?
  15. Nice day by UCLA, but pretty low rent of their DC to wait until all the LOIs are signed to take the Atlanta Falcons job. Of course the NCAA would never let any of the kids out of their commitments. http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/02/04/report-ucla-dc-ulbrich-nd-qbs-coach-leaving-for-nfls-falcons/
  16. Please take that [expletive] down. Please. He didn't say that. Check his twitter. A poster on the rivals main board wrote that as a troll on Ole Miss. My apologies. It is all over the place and I took it to be true.

  18. Wow. Texas aTm is recruiting one QB who may well play baseball. If so, that leaves them with one scolarship QB on campus. Manziel and Kenny Trill defections have left them in a bad spot.
  19. So, NFL Network is saying that soliciting a hooker=bad. Doing mountains of blow with multiple hookers in the 90's=OK.
  20. @AP_Top25: BREAKING: Jury convicts 2 former Vanderbilt football players of raping woman inside campus dorm. Under the watch of James Franklin.
  21. Choke? Meh, Arkansas was the better team. Mizzou was lucky to be in the game. They were on the verge of being blown out like 5 times.
  22. worse look: yanking an offer from a commit two weeks prior to NSD http://www.tennessean.com/story/vols/2015/01/21/marques-ford-decommits-tennessee/22123845/ That's one of the really crappy parts of the sec. Feel bad for the kid. Fixed Haha. OK. I must have missed the commitment to the student athletes from the rest of the Power 5.
  23. Hasn't the FO all but said this would happen with their Rizzo comparisons and regular reminders on him working on his swing?
  24. Mixed emotions on this. By several accounts he is an excellent recruiter and runs the offense Bielema wants, something that caused friction with "3 passes and out" Chaney. He also seemed to be pretty decent at QB development.
  25. Tennessee OC quits to pursue "other coaching opportunities". This close to signing day I bet Jones is thrilled. Not a good look.
