    We should add Dexter Fowler before the deadline. What would it take to get him?

    He's become a real prospect and is already a solid trade piece. Well, yeah. Still would be nice to see him go on a tear before the deadline.

    Another benefit of the great start is being able to try out guys like Candelario. Hopefully he goes all LaHair and becomes a valuable trade piece.

    Any thoughts on the batting order once Dex is healthy? Dex Bryant Rizzo as a 1 2 3 works for me. Move JHey up in the order later.

    Bryzzo's hitting lately is largely wasted without Fowler at the top of the lineup.

    No, he's just misreading this warning track and his proximity to the wall for some reason. Maybe so, but he did it at least once in Cincy too.

    Has Almora always done the Soriano hop before catching fly balls? I don't remember him doing that when he first came up.

    Darwin Barney was probably awesome against someone too. Look, not trying to pile on the guy, but does he have a nagging injury or is this is ceiling? When Fowler gets back I'd rather he not bat 2nd in this lineup. Yeah, offense is so terrible w/ him hitting 2nd all year. This is what I hate. Offense has been largely awesome in spite of him. Now there's injuries so his mediocrity is magnified. Not saying he's awful, just counting on our RF being a run producer eventually ffs.

    triple f bomb because Fernandez threw one to the backstop that bounced right back to the catcher so Hammel couldn't score Got it...appreciate the detail. That's the kind of stuff that doesn't show up on the ESPN Gamecast. Triple F bombs? It would certainly add to Gamecast.

    "Making sold contact outs" qualifies as a 'good day' for pretty much anyone on the roster. People around here are generally smart enough to know that if someone is hitting the ball consistently hard, it's going to translate into offensive production at some point in the near future. Right now for Heyward the production isn't there, but the contact is giving us a sign that it should be coming soon. I get that. I guess I'd be more encouraged if that were happening more often that not. A black hole at 1-2 in the lineup is brutal.

    Heyward sucks. feel better? No. I'm just looking for someone to tell me I've got nothing to worry about. I knew he started slow, but I didn't expect him ever to be late on fastballs. Contact was the least of our worries, I'd thought.

    I know you guys keep saying how Heyward will turn it on at some point, and believe it's probably true, but I'm getting really tired of having to qualify him actually making solid contact outs as him having a "good day". He either isn't having decent pitch recognition or he's lunging at the plate with every swing and can't catch up to a fastball.

    It kinda seems like Javy has been getting a start a week at SS for a few weeks now. That seems like enough, Russell's defense is too valuable to not be playing him a heavy majority. Not advocating it yet, but Javy's defense negates any argument for Addy on those grounds. I know I'd like to see Javy get 15+ ABs a week, plus his defense in the infield. Again, not dumping on Russell, but when I look for the top lineup, Addy's not there yet,

    Not to dump on Addison at all, but is it time to think about giving Javy ABs over Addy? He's a better defender and a better shot at reaching some sort of ceiling. Not a knee jerk reaction because I want Russell to be a star, but it's a legitimate question given what's happening.
