    You've never been to Austin I guess? Yeah, I hate Texas as much or more than most here having grown up as a Hog fan during the SWC, but Austin is great. Hill country in Texas is beautiful. Houston area however, not so much.

    Shawon Dunston is my favorite Cubs player before the last few years. My first dog was named Shawon.

    Geographically, yes. Culturally, no. But yeah, the SEC looks like hot garbage so far outside of BAMA. Big 12 isn't exactly looking great either. Texas A&M was far from hot garbage. I didn't see much of that, but on the whole the SEC was AWFUL. Yikes.

    Coach Hermann can pick almost any job he wants if he's willing to leave. Strong had better look good this year at UT.

    I'm really thinking that LSU is going to get beaten by Wisconsin. There's a ton of Badger fans that live down here and frequent my corner bar, so it will be interesting if/when LSU starts sucking. Nothing is worse than drunken idiot LSU fans.

    There's a ton of similarities between Nebraska and Tennessee. Both share a great history and rabid fan bases, both were last at their peaks around the turn of the century, but both suffer from being located in a weak talent recruiting base while their primary rivals have become even more national powerhouses.

    Years from now we'll be having the disagreements over John Lackey. Just kidding! We'll all universally hate John Lackey.

    I fully expect LSU to go full implosion mode this year, by their standards anyway, and Les to be gone after the season. The rumblings from fans and HS coaches have evolved from the usual "Les is a moron" talk to "LSU can't develop QBs". If he doesn't beat Bama and wins under 9 games, Les is toast.

    I don't want moves being made based on hot streaks, especially not ones that lower your chances of scoring as much as a good hitter voluntarily giving away one of your three is outs. It was stupid. Not every move that doesn't work is stupid. They thought Russell or Soler had a better shot of getting the runners in from 2nd and 3rd than Zobrist had of not making a productive out off Urias. Didn't work out, game's not over. The flip side of that is that your 4-5-6 hitters are coming to bat looking at 0 outs against an 18 year old rookie pitcher who is struggling.

    Exhibit A on why this team shouldn't bunt. Lots of Ks, which makes outs more valuable. Lots of extra base power, negating the need to move runners over.

    They'll be fine. Dak is the real deal. He would have won a Heisman if he had played for a real contender. He was a steal in the 4th round. Really? His passing is not pretty.

    Hoping they draft Chad Kelly this year. He'd do great in the dome. I still have a little faith in Grayson developing. No sooner do I give the defense a compliment than the Saints make Landry effing Jones look like Dan Marino.

    The Saints look atrocious so far this preseason. The O-line can't block anyone. The pass rush and defense overall looks much improved, but they are young and thin in the secondary. At least we can maybe turn the page from Drew after the season.

    Trust me...it only gets worse. Indeed. Wait until hair grows wildly in places like your ears. And having worked on my feet for 20 years, hurting knees are a part of every day life. Sigh.
