  1. I think we've got a good one in the booth. for interim, i'd think they'd go with Rothschild, but i sure wouldn't mind Brenly as the manager down the line. At least he seems like a guy that would actually have Hairston and Walker 1-2 in the lineup every day.
  2. if they did deny Corey for Kearns, it shows how much Corey's value is dropping. I'm not putting much stock into this seeing it was brought up in a chat room.
  3. I have always jumped on people who make those "season over" remarks, but we're nearing that point. Whoa. Now I know it's getting bad. I was going to give it until a couple weeks after the break before giving up completely. it doesn't help when were falling flat on our faces against the team that is leading the WC race with some of their big players missing and a team that is filled with rookies. I consider myself an optimist as well and I'm losing hope :(
  4. This garbage is getting old. Don't care if you're joking or pissed or what not. Amen, Serena. thank you Serena. The team frustrates me, but death threats? Cmon guys, it's not THAT serious.
  5. Glanville was on the 03 bench too but your right, our bench is considerably worse this year then it was in 03. That of course falls on Hendry. If we got an OF in the offseason, Hollandsworth would have been on the bench the entire year and would have helped it out a lot more. Unfortunately, our offseason wasn't all that great and we didn't get a LF.
  6. to make matters worse, the Astros are winning and they would tie us in the standings if everything holds up
  7. Have you seen Dubois bat? He would have struck out faster than Macias, generally Macias at least makes contact. Still pretty pathetic that Dusty's best option in that situtation is Macias. Macias usually strikes out, too. The difference is that with Dubois, you have a chance for a GS, or the remote chance of a walk. Macias is a poor, poor hitter. That was terrible managing. Well the stats don't back up your argument. Dubois strikes out roughly 1 out of every 3 times at bat. Macias Strikes out 1 out of every 10. Dubois is a better hitter than Macias. With Jason, there is at least the threat of damage. He is? So far Dubois has shown nothing other than the propensity to strike out and the inability to hit a breaking pitch. At least Macias generally puts the ball in play. I'm not saying Macias is a good hitter, but makes more contact that Dubios. I can't believe that Hendry left Dusty with this team. When your best pinch hitter is Macias, you can't fault Dusty for having to use him. our best PH is NOT Macias. That is Baker's fault for having the guy first off of his bench every chance he gets. I was real surprised to see Hairston come in at 2nd today instead of Macias. He has some real weird obsession with Jose. Tonight we had Barrett, Cedeno and Dubois on the bench..all are better options in that situation then Macias was put in. Whenever Hairston doesn't start, hes always on the bench, yet Macias is always the guy Baker chooses to PH for the pitcher. This team is getting so annoying to watch. It's almost becoming worse to watch then the 2002 team. We have so much more talent offensively then the 2003 team and we have our pitching staff completely healthy, yet were not doing a dang thing to win games.
  8. hearing Ronny tonight was real sad...he sounded even more frustrated then us. It's unbelievable how we make these rookie pitchers look like Cy Young canidates.
  9. left shoulder irritation was the report from Kasper. Hopefully nothing serious.
  10. Have you seen Dubois bat? He would have struck out faster than Macias, generally Macias at least makes contact. Still pretty pathetic that Dusty's best option in that situtation is Macias. yes i have seen Dubois bat and anyone on this team is a better option then Macias. I don't care that he's batting over .250, i'd PH Prior/Wood/Zambrano in front of the guy. and this game is gonna get rained out.
  11. why doesn't Baker ever get pissed off at Neifi? He can't lay down a bunt last night and then tonight in a big situation, he's first pitch swinging and flies out to LF. It really looks like that the Cubs took their All-Star break last weekend and their still on it.
  12. why wasn't Dubois or Barrett up in that situation with the tying run in the plate? Forget about this inning now with Neifi up.
  13. Cy Colon is throwing a near flawless game, who didn't see this coming?
  14. seconded. At least the Cubs actually win in that game, for me at least
  15. nice to see we had a chance up until the 5th inning tonight. Getting ready for loss #6 in a row
  16. a sac bunt later helping a run score? can't be the Cubs.
  17. 2 down on the bunt. One more Greg, then we need to score next inning before the rain comes.
  18. looks like Greg not only needs to give Neifi bunting lessons, but hitting lessons as well.
  19. "left shoulder irritation" for DLee. Hope its nothing serious.
