Peoria down 3-0 in the 3rd. Yepez gave up a homer in the 1st and a horribly misplayed ball by Valdez in left brought home a run on a 2 base error. Reed then had a passed ball and the lead is now 3-0 Fort Wayne. make it 4-0 on an RBI double by Fort Wayne in the 3rd. -
we HAVE to win tonight, and I believe we will too. i don't expect much from the offense, but I think Z will be awesome tonight. Final score: Cubs 3 - Giants 1

to be mentioned in the same sentence with the 04 Expos is definitely not a good thing. wow, I knew our offense was bad, but not that bad.

Iowa loses 2-1 for the 2nd straight day. O'Malley pitched 5 pretty good innings that included 7 K's, but he had 2 pitches that went out for two homers. The offense wasn't much better as they combined for five hits with the only run scoring on an RBI double by Casey McGehee in the 7th. a positive though was that Wuertz pitched an inning and a third allowing no hits, no walks, and had 3 K's :D -
we are awful.

I'm calling Z giving up 714 tomorrow. He's going to want to challenge Bonds and I think he's going to make a bad pitch and Barry's going to hammer it. I sure hope not but I can see it happening. haha if he hits 714 off of Carlos, Z will make him pay his next AB.

Chan Ho Park was throwing a no no against us for 5 innings. Chan Ho Park. That fact alone should make Jim blow this offense up.

the winning run for Iowa was stranded at 3rd as Coats struck out for the 4th time tonight. He is now 0/7 tonight. Ouch. to the 15th in Des Moines :shock: -

I agree. I am sick and tired of the injury excuse year in and year out too. It's the GM's job to add depth to this team. Hendry did a good job on our bullpen, but this is one of the worst Cubs offenses I've seen in a long time. and that's saying a lot.

It's the Cubs offense. We couldn't score on a 6+ Starter and 6 + ERA against SD (I believe) yeah I realize our offense blows. Just trying to gain any optimism I can get out of this.

just a reminder to everyone..SF's bullpen is the worst in the majors based on ERA. of course they don't have Fassero anymore, but still, it's not over yet.
