Iowa won 5-2. Wuertz and Ligtenberg pitched the 8th and 9th innings. Wuertz had a shaky 8th, but got out of a jam unscathed. He allowed a walk and 2 hits, but also had 2 K's. Ligtenberg got his 6th save of the season as he only allowed a hit in the 9th. Theriot had a nice game going 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's and a walk. Felix went 1/4 with a walk and a strikeout. Restovich, McGehee, Fontenot, and Ojeda all had a hit apiece and Soto had 2 hits including an RBI single that eventually proved to be the winning hit. Still no score for the Jaxx after 4.

Soto with an RBI single, which gave Iowa a 3-2 lead and then Theriot had an RBI triple that scored two more. Iowa now leads 5-2 in the bottom of the 8th :) Peoria won 7-5. Atkins pitched 6 innings allowing 7 hits, 4 runs, 1 BB, 1 HR, and had 5 K's. Teasley, Williamson, and Campusano finished it off for the Chiefs. Campusano notched down his 20th save of the season. Yusuf Carter hit his 2nd homer, a 3 run shot in the 5th, and Peoria never looked back. Valdez had 2 hits and 2 RBI's and Johnston also added 2 hits tonight. No score so far in game 2 of the Jaxx doubleheader through 2 1/2.

I'm game. So when Steve Kline suggest that Mark Prior get hit by one, it's wrong, and it's okay for two of us to say it. I'm becoming less and less proud to be a Cub fan with comments lke this. There's a 4-page thread on Ozzie Guillen, a manager with a World Series ring and a competitive team this year, and it's all negative. So many "real" Cub fans talk about how obsessed with the Cubs Sox fans are, and how they're fickle, and don't exist. Judging by this section of the board and half the people that are/were Cub "fans," many of us aren't too far from that either. I feel like making some of you feel like that Sox pitcher last night. Grow up. I find it real tough to criticize a manager who just brought a World Series to a town where our manager does nothing but underachieve and make excuses. Yes, it was wrong, but how many of you wouldn't trade Guillen for Baker? I can understand why so many Cub fans hate Buehrle because of all of the comments he has made about Wrigley in the past, how he was a Cardinal fan growing up, ect. But I think it's bush for anyone hoping someone gets hit with a linedrive. That is pretty disgusting. I like how Ozzie protects his players, but he isn't afraid to chew them out when they are wrong. Unfortunately, Ozzie handled the situation last night really wrong by having a rookie continue the beanball war. He snapped after a loss a few weeks ago because the team wasn't executing and wasn't hitting well with RISP. Of course as a Cubs fan, this is a lost cause because we can't hit period and we can't hit at all with RISP. I'd like a guy with Ozzie's firey attitude to get his point across to this team instead of a zombie-like manager in Baker where it's the same stuff everyday. "The guys played real hard, we just gotta keep fighting dude," or, "Yeah that Sampson kid...whew, he's going to be a good one," or "man I can't explain it, the guys are busting their butts out there right now." I'm sick of Baker and the bum needs to go.

Williamson worked the 8th for Peoria and went an inning allowing a hit, an ER, and had a K. After 8, Peoria leads the Cougars by a score of 7-5.

Might want to update your sig since T2 is projected as going #2 to the Bulls right now. :D That and O'Bryant will more than likely not fall down to 16th.

Montanez walked on the PH for Hill followed by a sac fly by Theriot and then a walk by Pie. Bases loaded, 2 outs for Restovich. And Restovich hit a deep flyball into rightcenter, but it was caught to end the inning. 2-1 New Orleans at the stretch.

Quick 4th for Hill: 2 fly outs and a ground out. Iowa's offense with only 2 hits through 4 so far; 1 by Theriot and 1 by Felix.

Jaxx scored 4 off of Huntsville and lead it 4-1! The box is a bit sketchy because of the game being suspended earlier, but it appears Negron drove in 3 on a bases loaded double for the big strike against Huntsville.

I'm confused why he didn't have Vazquez plunk a Ranger. The Sox were going to lose anyway, Vazquez was going to be taken out soon..why didn't Ozzie just have Vazquez throw at a Ranger? Ozzie went to the extreme of chewing out Tracey, but I wish Busty would do that more. And as I'm typing this right now, I'm seething at how much I hate Baker. Carry on.

Hill struck out the 1st two batters he faced, but then allowed 3 hits in a row before Restovich threw out a baserunner trying to go to 3rd. 1-0 New Orleans after 1. Peoria leads Kane County after 2. Jaxx still trail 1-0 in the resumed suspended game after 5.
