  1. Iowa wins 8-1. Good start from Walrond: 7 IP, 6 hits, 1 run, 6 K's/3 BB's. Cherry and Piggy pitched the final two innings allowing no runs. Seven position players had a hit for Iowa, all except Hoffpauir and Moore. Pie and Pontenot were each 2/5 with a double apiece. Felix drove in 4 while Fontenot drove in 1. Soto was 2/4 with a double and an RBI. Cedeno was 2/3 with a walk and EPatt was 1/4 with a double and a walk. Peoria just won 4-1. Shaver had a great start: 5 IP, 3 hits, 1 run, 0 ER, 6 K's/3 BB's. Roquet pitched the final two innings only allowing a walk and struck out two. His ERA is now down to 0.36. Peoria only had four hits; Camp, Adduci, Joseph, and Mota. Camp and Joseph had the only RBI's for the Chiefs as Wisconsin gave up 3 unearned runs.
  2. "High deep drive." Don't know what game you're watching there, Len. Once again the Cubs go 1-2-3 in the 1st.
  3. Daytona wins 3-1. Nice start from Estrada: 7 IP, 5 hits, 1 ER, 5 K's/3 BB's as he gets his first win of the season. Downs and Layden pitched the final two innings, allowing no runs. Colvin was 1/3 with a double and a walk. Dope had a 2/3 day with an RBI. Jesus Valdez was 2/4 with an RBI. Chris Amador and Kyle Reynolds were each 1/4. Iowa up 4-1 in the 5th. EPatt and Fontenot are each 1/2 with a double. Eric also has a walk. Felix is 1/3 with 2 RBI's. Buck Coats hit a solo HR in the 3rd. Soto is 1/2 with a double and Cedeno is 1/2 with a single. Peoria is scoreless through 1 1/2.
  4. Sounds like Oprah to me. Beat me to it.
  5. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Reyes sucked, but you're telling me that he's worse than a guy that the ROYALS cut? That's awesome.
  6. Hahaha, Saarloos didn't even record an out. The Reds are awful.
  7. I'm still mad about Cotts being sent down. I wouldn't call Cotts a loogy.
  8. Veal dominated the FSL last year. He's way too advanced for that league. Yeah he's been shelled a lot this year, but he's also had his fair share of good outings. It's usually been feast or famine with him. I absolutely agree with you on Cherry. I doubt we'll see him here until the roster expands. Not really worried about Samardzija, yet. Like Keener said, he's trying to get a good grip on his change. I'm sure it would be pretty easy for opposing hitters to just sit back on a changeup everytime up if he's throwing it at least 50% of the time.
  9. Bailey now struggling as he has given up 2 hits and a walk without retiring anyone. Now it's 13-6. Cherry's official line: 0.0 IP, 1 hit, 5 ER's, 0 K's/4 BB's. His ERA is now up to 6.92
  10. Cherry walks in a run. And he's removed without recording an out. Ouch.
  11. Loving what I'm seeing from William this year. Does anyone know why Schappert was called up to Iowa? He did pitch a scoreless 8th for Iowa, but I'm just puzzled on why he was the one that was called up. An ERA of over 6 in Tennessee and he's promoted? Cherry into pitch the 9th as Iowa leads 13-1.
  12. Daytona loses 2-1. Johnson and Phelps pitched 3 no-hit innings of relief for the D-Cubs. Dope was 1/2 with a double and the lone RBI. Colvin was 1/4. Matulia and Valdez had the only other Daytona hits. Iowa just put a 6 spot on the board in the 6th to take a 6-1 lead. Miller: 5 IP, 5 hits, 1 ER, 4 K's/3 BB's. Randy Wells came on in relief and struck out the side in the 6th. Soto hit a 3-run HR and Kinkade has driven in two runs as well. EPatt is 1/3 with an RBI, Cedeno is 1/2 with a double and a walk, and Fontenot is 0/2 with a walk. Pie has the day off. Tennessee has come back to take an 8-7 lead in the 7th. McGehee is 2/4 with a homer and 4 RBI's. Matt Craig is 2/2 with two doubles and two walks. Jemel Spearman is 2/3 with a double, a walk, and 3 RBI's. Jake Fox is 0/3 with a walk and 2 runs.
  13. So we've already decided that Pawelek is a failure? Considering the guy has had a major setback this year, I'd say he is.
  14. A better 4th inning only allowing 1 walk. Man, I don't know what is going on with him this year. Looked like he was turning it around, but these last 2 or 3 starts have been awful. Samardzija: 5 IP, 4 hits, 2 runs, 1 ER, 2 K's/1 BB. Besides his one real bad outing his last time out, that looks like the same line he's had repeatedly throughout this season. Daytona down 2-0 as the D-Cubs anemic offense can't give Samardzija any run support. Get used to it, kid.
  15. Dempster figures he can one-up the recent bullpen collapses by blowing it in the 9th.
  16. I can see the Dodgers PH'ing Kent right here. Which makes putting in Ohman very stupid.
