  1. I'm a little late to this thread but there's really no point in having Felix rot on the bench with the big league team when he can be getting AB's to try to fix his swing in Iowa.
  2. My guy was ousted in the last round (UK), so in my eyes, it's just a battle for 2nd  I gave the edge to Raisin.
  3. Yeah, I'd rather have Sosa as well, but I'd take Dye if the Sox were not asking too much for him. Face it, this team needs power and either one of these guys immediately gives you a power threat. But I don't think Dye will be a realistic possibility if Williams is going to have that kind of asking price for him.
  4. Iowa wins 9-7. Walrond was replaced after only 2 innings and 35 pitches after just giving up 3 hits and 1 ER. Prinz, Piggy, and Nannini were the relievers who gave up the other 6 runs. Both Richie and Nelson had two HR's and 3 RBI's. Murton had two doubles, an RBI, and a walk. EPatt was 2/5 with a double and a stolen base. Cedeno went 1/5 with his 5th SB of the year.
  5. I don't think he'll be traded. I do think Contreras is as good as gone.
  6. Wow. Tough crowd. Can't really get too excited about a 4-3 trip against the likes of the Nationals and the Pirates.
  7. Actually, Aramis and Soriano have been. Its at D Lees feet. Having a guy who hits for a high average isnt bad if its a 2nd baseman but for a 1B playing in Wrigley Field...? Mark Grace?
  8. And if we knew how to hit the ball out of the yard.
  9. Howry is making sure that we won't even have a prayer in the 9th.
  10. Seriously, Lee has went like 3 for his last 20 or something like that this week. It really doesn't make any sense why he didn't appeal his suspension.
  11. yes, moving up or moving out. Mateo looked so much better the last time he pitched - not only were his pitches where they needed to be, he also showed endurance that he previously hadn't. There were at least 6 scouts in the stands watching Mateo the last time he started in Peoria. Even though he gave up 3 runs in that game, I thought he looked real good. Definitely had good command of his fastball and he got it up to 92 on a slow radar gun in Kane County. Hopefully he has a good start today.
  12. And I still fail to understand why Lee hasn't done the same.
  13. Well, this sucks. End this game already.
  14. This game has gone much better than yesterday's.
  15. Tough one, but I'll go with Rocket.
  16. NIU is going to blow this year. They just might finish under .500 for the first time in 7 years. As for SIU and I-AA football, we should make the playoffs but lose in the 1st or 2nd round as always.
  17. Ugh, this is just so unreal. I'll never forget what he did for us in 98. He was my 2nd favorite player on that team after Sosa. RIP, Shooter
  18. Time to flush another disappointing season down the drain.
