He's just being realistic. We need another starter if we want to go deep into October. We really don't. It would certainly be nice. But we don't NEED it. The MLB playoffs are quite a bit of a crapshoot, with or without dominant pitching. What we need to do is win 3 out of 5, then 4 out of 7, and 4 out of 7 again. :wink: Eh, I'm a bit leery of having Dempster and Lilly as the 2 and 3 starters in the playoff rotation. If we were to land someone like Sabathia or Burnett, it would increase my confidence in this team dramatically.

Yeah, I really wouldn't miss Pie (or Hill for that matter) if it nets us Sabathia. It would probably take more to get him, but I'd do almost anything to land him. The Indians have one of the worst offenses in all of baseball. Sabathia's a free agent after this year. I really don't think it's very likely that the Indians will re-sign Sabathia after the season. So would they take the compensatory pick or would they trade him for several players that have a chance to make an impact on the team in the very near future? A 1-2 punch with Zambrano and Sabathia with Dempster as the 3rd wheel would be a very nice commodity.

I watched the game at my friend's house last night on his HD feed and you could barely hear the announcers. Anyone else have that problem? Pretty good game. I'd really love to see this series go seven.

I loathe Paul Pierce. Thus I can't root for them. The only player I hate on Boston is Posey (for obvious reasons). I really wanted the Bulls to get Pierce last year when the Celtics somewhat made him available and I like Garnett and Allen. The only reason I don't really like the Celtics is the fact that they're from Boston. And that makes me sick. The Lakers are my most hated NBA team, so do the math.

This statement is so stupid I don't even know how to respond to it. Go look up his peripherals and then get back to me. Christ. Wood has been dominant. All closers blow some saves. Marmol can't pitch every inning of every close game. Did we lose? Sham effing closer and his near sub 3 era suck. I can't stand him either. People will complain about anything. Do what I do and just laugh about it. Wood's been about as good as anyone could have hoped. It's quite humorous how people still manage to complain about the job he's done up to this point.
