  1. This is how I see it. Clear favorites, but anything but a lock. Yep, that's what I see too.
  2. Koyie Hill sucks. Dammit, what is it going to take for Fox to get a start behind the plate?
  3. At the worst, we should win 2 of 3 this weekend. A sweep would be great because I don't really see the Cards having much of an issue with the Nats.
  4. Apparently, hes already saved the economy, so whats left for him to do? Give his 2 cents on the Cambridge, Mass police department...sorry, that's for another thread... We all need a release from our work to stay sane. I don't see an issue with Obama congratulating Buerhle on one of the most rare feats in baseball... Besides, he probably does it to irk Hillary. Wait, or is she a Yankee fan ? If a Cub pitcher throws a perfect game, you can bet the phone will stay silent. I understand it's no big deal, but still. The favoritism is a bit annoying. Uh of course it would stay silent. He's not a Cubs fan, he's a Sox fan. You can say he's not a diehard fan, but to complain about something like that is kind of nitpicking.
  5. Who gives a [expletive] what Buster Olney says? He shouldn't be considered a national baseball guy. His information is really only relevant to the Yankees and again, who gives a [expletive] about the Yankees?
  6. Fukudome Theriot Lee Ramirez Bradley Soto Soriano Fontenot This lineup is just as talented. Now, staying healthy and playing to your talent level hasn't been the Cubs' forte this year, but if you are looking at potential lineups/production - this lineup is just as good. Give me Freddy Sanchez instead of Fontenot, then we'd be talking.
  7. Is the anti-Sox snark really necessary? This is NORTHsidebaseball.com, so I think it is necessary. I don't hate the Sox. In fact they could go 156-6 during the year and it'd be perfect happy as long as those 6 were against us. Call me Bisoxual i guess What, Im just saying that Sportscenter might give Buerhle a full 3 minutes of their time before they go back to talking about Manny Ramirez or the Yankee and red Sox. I'm sure some Yankees or Red Sox play will be #1 on the top 10 tonight too.
  8. The catch itself wasn't that great, it was his recovery when he dropped it. He robbed a homer, his recovery just added to how great that catch was.
  9. That catch was one of the best catches you'll ever see. For once, I think Hawk wasn't overreacting when he said that Wise catch was the best he's seen. Pretty cool to see.
  10. I would've been more than fine with 1 of 3 in Philly before this series. All things considered, we can gain ground on the Cards.
  11. So you walk Victorino on four pitches in front of Utley and Howard. God this team is so stupid.
  12. So in typical Cubs fashion, we score 8 runs and we still might lose.
  13. Wow we actually scored some runs against that vaunted bullpen that they possess.
  14. Kasper and Brenly are arguing the wrong point. Bako was arguing that he tipped it, not whether or not the ball went in the dirt.
  15. Tonight was easily the most frustrating loss of the year. If these last two nights don't show Jim Hendry that we need help offensively, I don't know what will. I'm getting tired of this script. It seems like every single game we lose is due to piss poor offense combined with a stellar pitching performance by a starter that goes to waste. Our bullpen was even lights out tonight against the freaking Phillies and we still couldn't get a HIT let alone a win. I'm glad that Lou said we need some bats (the plural part being the best part). Maybe Hendry can actually wake up and do some work over the next week instead of sleeping and doing nothing productive, like our offense.
  16. Nothing like Lou pitching Guzman when we're down by 8. Smart move, big guy.
