  1. Weathers hasn't thrown a strike yet and Bradley's swinging at crap.
  2. Nothing like bringing in a reliever to throw 4 straight balls. Wow, this is even brutal for Dusty.
  3. And Dusty adds the double switch for good measure. Beautiful.
  4. If McCutchen keeps hitting, I don't see how he won't get consideration.
  5. I wouldn't mind it. Gregg is kinda scaring me lately. Lou said Gregg and Heilman are unavailable tonight. Marmol is the closer, which most people wouldn't be much more comfortable with. As I said I wouldn't mind Wells closing this puppy out. He deserves to.
  6. I'm real excited about Cashner. Definitely didn't like the draft pick at the time, but he's been unreal this year.
  7. Fortunately for the Cubs, Randy Wells is a stud. Well, I think I underestimated "getting into a groove." After Badenhop left on Saturday, I think their long reliever only allowed 2 hits through nearly 5 innings. Then Nolasco retired something like 16 in a row yesterday and now Harang has been virtually unhittable ever since the Wells double. Hopefully Wells can go at least seven.
  8. Third straight game where we've let the starter and/or long reliever get into a groove after getting runs early.
  9. He's brutal. He makes Masur and Provus look like Pat Hughes.
  10. "I mean Darren has a real locker in the clubhouse!" Yeah Dan, it's got uniforms and everything!
  11. I feel the same exact way. Have a good start, please.
  12. Rosenfels is more turnover prone though. Either way, they're going to have some problems there.
  13. The best time of the year.
  14. Most are nuts, but TT's right. He should still have outstanding value after the season and if we can net a good return for him, I'm all for trading a guy with his control issues. Brenly's a good analyst but what he said last night (and what this thread mainly says) about him going to the minors is ridiculous. So you're going to send him to the minors when you already have bullpen issues? I'm curious to see whoever in Iowa is more dependable than Marmol. I'm sure there's guys with better control but I haven't really been impressed with any of the relievers we've called up from Iowa this year. Yes I realize Marmol can't throw strikes consistently but the good far outweighs the bad, in my opinion. He makes you sick to your stomach at times, but more often than not, he gets the job done. Honestly, I'm not really concerned about our bullpen even though they had a rough weekend.
  15. If Theriot was on a rival team, I'm sure I'd hate him too.
