  1. Yeah, that's been what I've been hearing the last couple days too.
  2. Gordon wants to go to Indiana (partly since his little brother has just hit high school). But the Hornets hold all the cards since he's restricted and the Pacers owner doesn't allow the Pacers to offer restricted free agents offer sheets, so it is still somewhat a long shot. If there's one thing you can trust it's where Gordon decides he wants to go. :clapping:
  3. I don't know a whole lot about him, but seems like a really good pick. He has a pretty good NBA build already, and also really long with a 6-11 wingspan. Was a SR, and he improved his shooting every year. Looks to be a pretty good scorer and a damn good rebounder at the SG spot (over 6 per game last 2 years).
  4. Baez in the hole 0-2, works the count full and doubles on the 8th pitch of the AB. 3-4, 2 doubles, 1 BB, 3 SB on the night.
  5. How does a 7-footer survive in Afghanistan? Seriously.
  6. Baez with a walk in his most recent AB. Looking at Gamecast though, none of the pitches were remotely close including balls 3 and 4 going for wild pitches.
  7. Yeah, that was my reaction to that as well. What an ass. Has anyone ever seen him and Vince McMahon at the same time? Somebody needs to hit Stern with an effing folding chair.
  8. That's what I'm thinking. That's what I would probably do in the Bulls situation.
  9. Doubt it. Miami may take him here.
  10. Is it a law that they have to have 75% of the league's American born white guys?
  11. I've always felt like Jones III would be a top 3 pick whenever he came out based on his natural athletic ability. I've always thought he was a Josh Smith type player that would really benefit from playing college ball and actually be a better version of Smith.....I guess not.
  12. Baez singled and stole 2nd in his 3rd AB. 10-10 in SB attempts. Edit: Correction. Baez just took off for 3rd. 11-11 in SB
  13. I was just using the example you laid out. I obviously don't know how it works for real, but there are plenty of reasons that have been given why it could work. The Dodgers have shown interest in Dempster to the point that there were reports that a deal would be done soon. The Dodgers also could use help in 1B and LF where they're getting 0 production. There's plenty of logical reasons the Dodgers would take LaHair and maybe give up a marginally better prospect than they would with Dempster alone vs. the alternative of going after someone better and more expensive in terms of salary and trade package.
  14. I just think you'd never get anything for somebody like LaHair alone, but he could perhaps sweeten the pot for an actual trade chip like Dempster. If you'd never get anything for LaHair alone, why would somebody give you more if you threw him in? Say LaHair = #22 prospect in an organization. How does X = #4 prospect but X+LaHair = #3? Because LaHair would be the proverbial "bird in the hand" in this scenario. X (Dempster) + LaHair = #3 prospect is better for the buying team than X (Dempster) + Y (bat from another team) for #4 prospect and #12 prospect, even if player Y is better than LaHair.
  15. I've always figured the Cubs would try to get LaHair in any deal with Dempster. I don't think he brings back enough return on his own, and for the Dodgers, he could be an upgrade at LF or 1B for them, even if he doesn't go anywhere near April numbers again. And because he's cheap, if he doesn't hit there isn't much lost.
  16. He's played 1B before. One day away from 3B isn't going to stunt his defensive development. Probably somewhat of a pseudo day off for him. Jackson got the night off, Vitters gets to play what maybe a less stressful position, given that there is no DH in this game.
  17. Yeah, I'm failing to see the connection too. But they are taking Barnes regardless. Barnes is going to struggle if he does to Charlotte, he would be in a much better place dropping to Clev. Jeremy Lamb and Davis are the two bets players in the draft, IMO. Agreed on Barnes. But Charlotte (aka Jordan) continues to do the wrong thing. So, he'll take Barnes at #2. If they do trade down to 4 and still get Barnes, I'll respect that....but still not the best fit. They should get Beal.
  18. Yeah, I'm failing to see the connection too. But they are taking Barnes regardless.
  19. Here comes the Rizzo walk-off! I know it's not the 9th inning, but I'm going to sleep after this AB.
  20. Fred, it would be a lot easier if you just posted, "The Cubs suck in all areas of baseball"
  21. Walk the pitcher and the guy in front of David Wright in the same inning. Cubs are not good.
  22. Walks 2 days in a row for Castro! Superbowl!
  23. If innings only had 2 outs, Randy Wells would be throwing a no-hitter.
