  1. Put Cooper in the game.
  2. Like the call to go for it. Marshall catches and its good.
  3. Paea out too. Tillman, Paea, Walters, James Brown, Maneri, JScott, Washington full inactive list.
  4. Tillman is inactive. [expletive].
  5. You copying off my blog? And as bad as 0-5 is, the Giants are only 2 games out of the division (though they have lost to both teams in 1st place). I'm thinking a repeat of the Steelers game. Bears need to get a score early on offense, especially since they haven't been able to do that the last 2 weeks. Then get an early turnover to get a struggling team in the "here we go again" mindstate. Maybe they figure things out for a little bit and make it close (rather complete the blowout if the Bears get up early) but then the Bears pull away late. Early offensive score, get early turnover on D. Giants aren't going to be able to come back from double digits.
  6. what about the 2013 season I don't know what you are talking about.
  7. Geno Smith's Monday Night Football performance was the highest QB rating game any QB has had in the 2013 season. 147.7. That includes a 500 yard, 5 TD game and a 7 TD, 0 INT game.
  8. Bryant Almora Baez Soler I think you're really selling Soler short. Heh. On my phone. Didnt mean to do that and didn't notice.
  9. Bryant Almora Baez Soler
  10. I'm going to guess the latter 2 definitely play. Bennett played thru the knee Sunday and its his former team. Tillman played all but 1 snap last week, I believe. And his is the same injury he's played with all year. Paea is a little more iffy. I think the team really wants/needs him to play, but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't.
  11. Gary Sheffield the career infielder is basically A-Rod/Chipper territory. But...he wasn't a career infielder But Javy can be is the point. Sheffield's bat (Javy's upside) is ARod/Chipper esque if Javy stays at SS/3B/2B (which all indications are that he will, unlike young Sheff). "Better than Sheffield" at any of those positions is among the best non-1B IFs to ever play baseball.
  12. No, it isn't projecting a HOF bat for Javy. It's saying if he hits his insane ceiling he'll have a HOF bat. You know what I meant. Point is, I can't see taking any minor leaguer and saying, "if he hits his ceiling, he's a Hall of Famer". That's what you're saying by "Sheffield is too low". Well that's just silly. In any given year there are minor leaguers whose ceiling is that of a hall of famer. Otherwise nobody would ever be a hall of famer. No. There are minor leaguers whose ceiling is an elite player. Longevity is what makes them HoF. Nobody can project a minor leauger to be elite for upwards of 12-15 years.
  14. Well, the "BAT" is compared to Sheffield's not the approach. And if you think Javy's upside is better than Sheffield, reminder that Sheff hit 500+ HRs with a .290 average. That's basically projecting a HoF bat for Javy.
  15. My Week 6 preview is up on the blog. www.mrirrelevantpgh-chi.blogspot.com
  16. Worthy dominated at times. Had a huge game against Wisconsin beating 3 players eventually drafted in the top 3 rounds (Konz, Frederick, Moffitt). Edit: actually Worthy tore up his knee last year (all the cool DTs are doing it) and doesn't look like he's able to play yet.
  17. Wow, the NFL sucks. I think looking at every team either based on their record so far this year, or the level of talent on the team, about 1/2 the league should be considered a "bad" team. PIT, ATL, NYG, WAS, MIN, and HOU are all talented teams that are playing terrible football. JAX, TB, SD, CAR, PHI, and OAK are just bad teams that lack sufficient talent. STL, ARZ, CLE, NYJ. MIA, TEN are IMO teams that may hang around and compete for the last wildcard spot, but are not as good as most teams typically at the back end of the playoff seeding.
  18. On the plus side, he's quick and shifty ala Reggie Bush. And that means Brandon Jacobs (makes me look quick and shifty) will carry the load. Can play 6 in the box and still come up and hit him just outside the hole.
  19. DJ, any thoughts on any of the Practice Squad guys around the League? Of the ones I seen, I remember liking Everett Dawkins (FSU) and Cody Larsen (Utah St?). Liked Dawkins coming out of the draft. Undersized, but obviously quick. For some reason, thought he was hurt. Larsen, I don't know much about. Don't remember him being anything special in terms of pass rushing/quickness. Want to say he's more of a strong, pocket pusher not a 1-gap type player. Not that at matters at this point, need bodies at DT.
  20. And yes both Okoye and Toeina are both injured right now (have bad knees iirc) and are unable to play.
  21. Going to be a JV game in the middle of the field if Paea doesn't play. Backup DTs vs backup interior linemen.
  22. Hello? Sex offender hotline? I have something to report. Its called recruiting. I hope you meant scouting. Nope. Its recruiting. Its like a HS player or a free agent. Not available now but when they become available, you want them to already have an idea of what team they want to join when able to legally do so.
  23. I'd take that in a heartbeat, no question. Same. The high-end of that range would be my goal for this season. The roster is long, athletic, and talented. However, it's inexperienced and raw. Interior play is basically one big question mark. Perhaps most concerning, to me, is that I'm unsure how well the pieces fit together. There are only three scholarship guards on the roster--one being a freshman (Stanford Robinson) and one being a senior transfer (Evan Gordon) in his one (and only) year in the program. Two of the (mostly likely) best players on the team (Noah Vonleh, Jeremy Hollowell) are likely positionally redundant in Crean's system and may not always be able to play together. The starting/most common lineup figures to either be a bit awkward or not include the best five players. Yeah definitely not going to have the best 5 starting. Going to have a host of good 6-7 to 6-9 players. The lack of guards is concerning but Sheehey, Williams and Etherington (sounds like he could have a role) can all play the 2.
  24. Still feel they need to be more aggressive to get pressure. Tillman and Jennings were probowlers last year. They can cover. Gotta force the issue at some point.
  25. I know I'm kind of an eternal optimist when it comes to the Bears, but I don't think the defense has been as bad as the stats indicate. They played well enough against everyone but AJ Green and Reggie Bush weeks 1 & 4. They allowed a bunch of garbage yards against Pittsburgh. Brees picked apart a soft defense yesterday, and Payton thoroughly outcoached Tucker with the play calling. That being said, I don't expect the defense to get much better with the age and no interior DL. Best case scenario right now is that the offense puts complete games together gets hot late in the season, and makes a run with an opportunistic defense. Its basically how the Saints and Ravens won their rings recently.
