So with a win we clinch not worst record in the NL? That's been clinched mathematically earlier this week. They just clinch not worse than the Nationals. Even now, for the Nationals to finish with a better record than the Cubs, they have to finish the year 34-0 while the Cubs finish the year 0-35. That would put them at 79-83, which wouldn't be the worst record in the NL. Not to nitpick, but 0-35 the rest of the way would put the Cubs at 78-84. ;)
