  1. Some of the comments so far are ridiculous. Oliver Perez is "Big Game Ollie?" Give me a break!
  2. You can't count the Mets because they've only played the Cubs twice this season.
  3. 24 for a playoff spot. 28 for the division.
  4. According to the Brewers' schedule, they're on WMLW 41.
  5. You know what would be awesome? Z hitting a pinch-hit home run in an AL park.
  6. Braves (Campillo) @ Cardinals (Lohse) 2:55 PM Pirates (Gorzelanny) @ Brewers (Suppan) 7:05 PM

  8. So with a win we clinch not worst record in the NL? That's been clinched mathematically earlier this week. They just clinch not worse than the Nationals. Even now, for the Nationals to finish with a better record than the Cubs, they have to finish the year 34-0 while the Cubs finish the year 0-35. That would put them at 79-83, which wouldn't be the worst record in the NL. Not to nitpick, but 0-35 the rest of the way would put the Cubs at 78-84. ;)
  9. Yes. In the 2003 ALDS, he was 1-1 with a 13.50 ERA and a 3.64 WHIP in only 1.1 IP. In the 2006 ALCS, he was 0-1 with a 4.76 ERA and a 1.92 WHIP in 5.2 IP. Small sample size, but there you go.
  10. Fred, Marquis will be starting the Friday game against the Nationals.
  11. Gotta love your team when that's your forfeit lineup.
  12. Steve Trachsel. What a pointless acquisition that was.
  13. The Cubs have only been swept once this season, right? Twice. The Rays and the White Sox did it. Oh, yeah. I forgot about the White Sox series, but that's probably a good thing.
  14. The Cubs have only been swept once this season, right?
  15. I hope not, Cubs are 0-3 this season in games where Zambrano homers. How did Z pitch in those games? I know he sucked in the last one, but I'm betting the other 2 losses weren't his fault.
  16. Yeah. Last year they were in full swing at anything mode in the playoffs. I expect better this year.
  17. That's what this guy thinks. http://mlb.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?mid=200808123296018 Too bad Volquez isn't a rookie. #-o
  18. If the Rangers could just get some pitching, they'd be a damn good team.
  19. I'm fine with people swinging at the first pitch when it's a pitch they can hammer, but so often they swing at the first pitch and look completely foolish doing so. I sometimes think certain players swing at the first pitch just to be swinging at the first pitch.
  20. Hoping for the Nationals to beat Sabathia is like hoping for a one-legged, blind opossum to successfully cross an Interstate at the peak of rush hour.
  21. Someone loooooooooves the attention.
