  1. some of them are up but I think it may be intentional. He isn't missing by much. thanks to everyone who answered!
  2. question for those watching on TV. A lot of guz pitches appear to be up in the zone on gameday, but I see they are mostly hitting groundballs? Is he up or is gameday just being stupid with location?
  3. Vasquez has thrown 38 pitches through 2 innings.
  4. dont know how well it's working http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/y2006/gd.html?2007_03_16_chnmlb_chamlb_1&brand=mlb
  5. Mackowiak is RF, Ertsad CF, and Podsednik in LF
  6. lineup posted on mlb.com has this: Theroit 3B Derosa 2B Lee 1B Floyd DH Jones RF Murton LF Cedeno SS Blanco C Pie CF
  7. There will be plenty available. Your choice of games might be limited somewhat. That's what I meant. My friends and I already have tix to the Apr 11th and 12th games. We were hoping to get some for one of those days then just sell our bleacher tix that we have. I'm afraid those games might be gone by 11 because they are value games.
  8. this is pretty sweet. I took some well needed time off work today to make mine!
  9. I got picked this year but my time is for 11. I am hoping there still tix left when I get in. They should go all the way to 4.
  10. just to add to this but someone over at this site ####://cubsrumorsandnews.blogspot.com/ posted a rumor regarding those same players. Although I don't believe some of the info like Pie playing right, it is interesting.
  11. he probably did gain the weight it's just very hard to tell because of his build. I am 6'3" and pretty much the same build. After working out this offseason I went from 180 to 205 but there's not really much of a difference. I'd probably have to put on another 10-15 lbs to make a noticeable change.
  12. The last two years I've received emails after 3pm. One year it said I got it, the next I didn't. Im holding out hope that I did this year.
  13. He's probably tired from running the bases.
  14. Z easily made it and had the time to fall down and get up. He was probably thinking about sending him home until he fell down.. now that would have been interesting. :)
  15. He gave up a homer with the bases juiced Izzy with another hit Woodchip is right. Any runs scored after there are two outs and there has been an error (where the guy didn't later get out) should be unearned. Intuitively, it makes sense. I disagree. An argument could easily be made that the batter (after the error) has nothing to do with the previous hitter. IMO, that run should be on Woody. Batter that hit the HR would not have batted in the inning had the error not been committed.
  16. who pitched T6? pitcher IP H R ER BB K HR Zambrano 3.0 3 2 2 3 3 0 Eyre 0.2 3 2 2 2 2 0 R. Wells 0.1 0 0 0 0 1 0 Samardzjia 2.0 2 1 1 0 1 0 from the box score on mlb.com it looks like perez was already in the game playing second. So "chainsaw"did pitch the second inning
  17. Perez pinch hit for "Chainsaw" unless there was a double switch earlier.
  18. it would be pretty sweet to see Zambrano and Soriano go back to back with HRs.
  19. How often is Soriano going to be on first? I agree I'd like him to get more fastballs but if he can hit in the 8th slot while getting a big dose of offspeed stuff I think it might help his development in becoming a complete hitter. It could hurt him as well and wreck his confidence because you know pitchers won't be giving him a lot to hit but pitchers also like to get that 8th guy out and have the pitcher lead off if they can. I also don't think he'd get on base enough to be able to hit second like a Murton or even DeRosa could. True. Hadn't thought about it from that point. Having him see a steady diet of offspeed stuff in the 8 hole might help him develop a little more. I prefer Murton in the two hole over just about anybody we have on the team, Pie just didnt make sense to me anywhere but 2 or 7,8 depending on whether Izturis is still around.
  20. I'll probably get ripped for this but it was a thought I had last night. With our current lineup, if Pie was to make the 25 man and start, do you think it would be smart to hit him in the 2 hole? With Soriano on and a threat to steal, Lee and Ramirez behind him, he'd probably see a lot more fastballs. If you put him in front of Izturis, or the pitcher they are more likely to throw offspeed or breaking pitches to him. Just a thought ..
  21. Has Juan Pierre been sneaking into camp? what do you mean? I've seen some 4-3 groundouts the last couple days.
  22. Lilly throws ASSOCIATED PRESS 03/05/2007 PEORIA, Ariz. -- Ted Lilly threw some ptiches, got some outs but the real story was Mark Prior. Prior was scheduled to go two innings but left after 40 pitches -- 16 of which were chest-high or higher. After an errant fastball forced catcher Michael Barrett out of crouch and into a reaching snag, pitching coach Larry Rothschild visited Prior on the mound. Mike Morse hit the next pitch into the left-center field gap for a double. ... Prior sat on the dugout bench and threw his cap over his shoulder and into the back wall of the dugout. ... AP always gives equal time! :D
