  1. A freshman who is on the team this year? Probably Derrick Williams or Justin King. Derrick Williams, that is who I was thinking of. #1 overall on Rivals.com. Thank you.
  2. Question for the PSU fans. What is the name of the freshman who was one of the top 10 recruits, per Rivals.com. I can't find his name on the free part of the site, and I am having a discussion with my friend. I know he committed at the last minute, but can't remember his name. Knowing his name would help alot. Thanks.
  3. Just a word of warning, and I have no first hand evidence to back it up. But apparently visiting team fans aren't treated well AT ALL in Cleveland. I mean, AT ALL. Just so you know. Browns fans are surprisingly die-hard. Thanks for the warning. I will try not to be "that guy" I do hope it is not as bad as I saw Eagles fans get treated at the playoffs a few years ago at Soldier. I felt terrible for those people. There was almost a riot in one of the bathrooms.
  4. Ever been to London? Not yet. Hope to move there when I graduate though. Is it pretty dirty?
  5. It's very underrated, or so I am told. Check out the R&R Hall of Fame while you're there. Meh. The stadium is pretty nice I'm told, but Cleveland isn't a super-cool town. Tower City's pretty neat, but it's no more special than other similar places(Mag Mile, Union Station in STL, etc.) IIRC, the stadium is right on the lake, so count on cooler temps than the forecast predicts. I have a friend who goes to law school there and I think he has a lot of stuff planned for us to do this weekend. I am pretty sure it will mainly involve bars, but I will make time for the HOF. He did tell me that Cleveland got rid of all trashcans downtown and it is the dirtiest city he has ever seen.
  6. Some other big games this weekend Texas v Oklahoma Tennessee v. Georgia Nebraska v. Texas Tech Notre Dame bye week/preparing for USC :D and that really about it. Go Penn State.
  7. I will be at this game. Never been to Cleveland so I am very excited.
  8. When ND Stadium was rebuilt they sold their bricks. I paid $50 for mine, and it came with a COA. Also Soldier field sold their seats. I have seen the W/L Flags that fly after the games being sold in MLB auctions. Does anyone else know of any stadium pieces that have been sold by it's respective organization? Oh yea, if there is a brick "borrowing" mission I would pay whatever the going price is.
  9. When I met my girlfriend she had a girlfriend. It is kind of weird sometimes. Most guys tend to get jealous when their girlfriends hang out with other dudes. I find my self worrying when she hangs out with the girls.
  10. I have some family in Altoona and have always been a closet Penn State fan. I must say I am very impressed thus far, especially after Sat. I will be rooting for them this weekend. I was suprised to see them as only 3 point underdogs. Vegas is generally pretty close so I expect a good game. PS. Penn State and ND meet again next year. I love it when they play. Always good games.
  11. Willy Parker. Picked him up via FA, and dropped Kevin Faulk. He is number 2 in my ESPN league, right behing Shockey. Definately a good guy to have.
  12. Shouldn't Williams be getting more reps that Brown soon? I personally would not have taken that trade, but at 1-3 may as well try to get something going. I just don't think Davis or Brown will pan out.
  13. Gotcha. This stuff is just so confusing with all these different polls. i wish everything just went by pollsters mindset. It has been just as confusing and controversial since the BCS as it was before. May as well go back to letting people that watch the games and know the teams decide.
  14. Does quality wins still factor into the BCS polls? I thought they got rid of all that and just use the Harris and coaches polls, plus the average of six computer polls, minus the hightest and lowest for each team. I really don't know what all is a factor these days. It seems every year something changes to make up for the problems the year before.
  15. Collegefootballnews.com has its bowl projections out. I don't agree with any of it but here it is... http://www.collegefootballnews.com/2005/Bowls/Bowl_Projections.htm
  16. And so is Florida, Michigan, South Florida, Georgia Tech, and maybe a few more. Those are just the ones I noticed right away. That is my biggest complaint with the polls. I doesn't matter how many 1 loss teams there are. It matters what week you got that loss. Losing at the beginning of the season will not hurt you as bad as losing towards that end. I believe that is what screwed Cal out of BCS game last year, but I am not positive on that.
  17. I wasn't really referring to the BCS poll. In the AP and Coaches VT is getting closer to Texas each week in amount of votes received. If they both keep winning, VT is eventually going to surpass Texas, especially if they beat Miami. Those polls allow the human thought of schedule strength, quality victories, etc to play a role. As a result it may affect the BCS poll, but not as much as it should. Unfortunately the BCS polls don't use rationality to determine things. If so Auburn would have been in the NC last year, which they deserved. The BCS will be a mess again this year, I think. EDIT: I hope the BCS will be a mess this year. I worse it gets the more likely it is a more suitable solution will come about.
  18. Bama is now 7 in the AP, 10 in the coaches. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/rankingsindex
  19. That would be great. I was actually talking about this last night. It is very unlikely but if ND wins out, they should have a shot at the NC. They would have beaten UM, USC, Purdue, and Tennessee. One loss to a very good MSU, and that is the only loss, no way they can be denied for the NC game. Of course a loss by VT, Texas, FSU, and Georgia would help alot. I really don't know who will beat VT though, or Texas. ND definetaly has a shot if they win out. Only problem is that ND will more than likely lose at least one more game. On another note, they do look like they are well on their way to a BCS game. If they can beat either Tennessee or USC, they should win the rest of their games. With 2 losses they should be a lock.
  20. I think if they both win out, VT will be over Texas. VT plays three more ranked teams (Miami, BC, Virginia) and Texas has to play only Texas Tech. True Texas did beat OSU, which was a big win, but VT is killing everyone they play, including then 15 ranked GT and a WV team that many thought would give them a run for their money (including me). If they are both undefeated at the end of the year IMO VT deserves to be above them. Of course this may not matter since ND is going to beat USC, leaving Texas and VT as 1 and 2
  21. I think that within the next few weeks VT will jump over Texas.
  22. You can't blame Aesop for the loss to MSU.
  23. Purdue's DC looks absolutely lost.
  24. The same thing happened to my brother playing FB a few years ago. He has no ankle now. My dad refuses to watch any of the replays.
  25. Another nice long drive after the blocked FG would be great.
