  1. I tried. No luck. I didn't really want to try, but I was at a computer at noon so I figured I would give a shot. Glad I didn't get them though, because I really didn't want to spend that much for a team I don't like.
  2. I thought Lidge did shake him off. May have been the pitch before though.
  3. I never said he wasn't biased. I actually said "of course he is going to be partial." So you don't have to convince me because I already know. What exactly are you referring to at SC? The violations he had nothing to do with or the bad state of the football team, which was his fault.
  4. There is nothing wrong about complaining about a team planting a flag in the field. That was classless. His actual quote was something like "MSU planted a flag in ND stadium my first year coaching. I then beat them for 10 straight years so they couldn't do it again." In regards to the MSU game, he was (I believe) referring to the great comeback ND made, and overall how great of a game it was. His compaint about overtime has always been around. Many other analysts agree with him, Mel Kiper being the most outspoken. Had MSU not scored, and the game came down to missed FG's he probably would have said the same thing. He has said it many times when games come down to missed FG's in OT. Also Lou is not the only person who feels that ND will be 9-2 and get a BCS game. If you have a complaint about that, there are a lot more people you could call morons, instead of picking on good old Lou  To answer your question, I am worried about BYU this weekend. Also every ND fan should worry about Tennessee. I think ND will win, but it won't be a cakewalk. However after Sat, I will admit a lot of people are starting to have too much faith in the Irish. I know how capable they are of blowing games.
  5. Holtz is a moron? How so? Come on man. I'm sure you like Lou and that's fine, but he's just awful on TV. The fact that he's a ridiculous ND homer doesn't bother me that much. He just has no television presence, doesn't speak all that well and doesn't really add much insight. Doesn't speak that well? He has pretty bad lisp, but he is also on of the most requested motivational speakers. He is well known for his speaking abilities. I don't think a lisp takes away from what a person says. I personally enjoy watching him. I think he is hilarious, and he always has been. I have seen Holtz speak many times, and while he may not have television presence he is a very, very good speaker. And does being awful on TV make him a moron?
  6. Guess I don't notice it as much. Of course he is going to be partial, but most of what he says Davis agrees with him. Its not like he is completely off base either.
  7. What BS? If what he said is BS, then your correct statement would be "All analysts except Mark May and John Saunders are morons"
  8. Houston. I have some family in Houston who have taken me to a few Astros games, and that is the only thing I can think of too make me root for any team. It really trying to pick the lesser of two evils (or three for now)
  9. Holtz is a moron? How so?
  10. Agreed If you lived where I do, I doubt you would feel that way. Why is that?
  11. As do I. I HATE the cardinals, but but only dislike the Astros.
  12. Suck it up. I could never turn down a chance to go to a WS game; no matter how much I don't care about either team.
  13. Man, I checked Rivalries, but not Transactions. Sorry
  14. I wish the Cubs would have gotten permission to talk to him.
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2194032
  16. I feel that Auburn dropped way too far after that first loss. Could really screw them for the rest of the seaon. Of course a win this week could get them back to about where they should be.
  17. Anyone know the line on that Texas game. At school and can't look it up because it school won't let me access gambling sites. Also would be real interested in the over on that. Big 10 fans- Can NW beat MSU this week? Also some awsome SEC games this week. I like Tennessee and Auburn personally.
  18. I was at that Rutgers game. Don't remember it being that cold, but it was very quite. ND is favored by 21.5 right now. I will be at the Syracuse and Tennessee games this year. I don't think anything will ever be the same at Saturday. I missed the predictions by Gameday, but was there for about an hour from when they started. Just an amazing day. I heard there were 150k on campus that day. I went to Legends to eat, and every seat in the room with the big screen was taken, about 2 hours before kickoff. I have walked in there before on gamedays and sat down well after kickoff. It was just crazy how many people were there. Alot of USC fans too, but they were all great, IMO. Talked to quite a few and they all flew out from LA. Some paid 400 a night for hotel rooms. Crazy. I am just glad I was able to experience this. I wasn't there in '88 but some of my family said it was the only game that has ever compared to the game with Miami that year. I have some friends in LA and they are already trying to get me to go out there for the game next year. That would awesome.
  19. May said ND would start 0-6. Of course he would say that it wasn't the best game of the year. He's got to cover his own stupid ass. I was there. It was the best college football game at the very least since ND/Miami 1988. In doubt the entire time, great plays made by great players everywhere. Leinart didn't look solid but he made the one great throw that he had to make on a 4th and nine...on which the stadium was louder than I have ever heard it, including when Shane Walton picked the game winner against UM three yrs ago, which I also saw. What you saw was two great teams out on the field, including four of the ten best players in the country in Brady Quinn, Jeff Samardzija, Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush. Bush won himself a Heisman on Saturday running for 160 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Leinart fumble call was the correct call but it the refs screwed it up. They were focusing on where to spot the ball and let the clock run down letting the ND students think the Irish had won. The first priority in that situation is making sure the clock is correct first. That was mismanagement on the refs' part. You want a prediction? This will be the last game Notre Dame loses until the fall of 2007. The replay showed the refs signaling to stop the clock as soon as the ball went out of bounds. The person who runs the clock made the mistake, the refs did it correctly on the field. One thing that is really starting to upset me is people saying ND got screwed by the non-call on the last play of the game. This game was too good and both teams played too well to have it negated by people blaming the result on a missed call. Did you watch gameday at all. I thought that was awesome. It doesn't compare to being in the stadium, of course but it was cool to see. I have never heard the stadium that loud-ever. I don't remember the exact quote, but it was something along the lines of ND did nothing to impress him, they still are just an average team who hasn't beat a team with a winning record (guess Michigan doesn't count), and they should not be considered amongst the top programs in the nation. He also said that the game was not that good, and ND lost, just like he said they would. Holtz and Davis were just laughing the whole time May talked. I really don't hate many people, but Mark May is one of them. Holtz also asked him if he had ever been whipped by a 5'10" 150 lb. old man.
  20. The AP poll. Pretty much the same as coaches except ND didn't move at all and UCLA jumped ahead of them with TT at 10. 1. USC (57) 6-0 1,617 2. Texas (8) 6-0 1,566 3. Virginia Tech 6-0 1,495 4. Georgia 6-0 1,426 5. Alabama 6-0 1,306 6. Miami 5-1 1,278 7. LSU 4-1 1,201 8. UCLA 6-0 1,085 9. Notre Dame 4-2 1,020 10. Texas Tech 6-0 1,007 11. Florida State 5-1 1,003 12. Penn State 6-1 854 13. Boston College 6-1 809 14. Ohio State 4-2 798 15. Oregon 6-1 665 16. Auburn 5-1 644 17. Tennessee 3-2 581 18. Florida 5-2 575 19. Wisconsin 6-1 549 20. West Virginia 6-1 379 21. TCU 6-1 249 22. Michigan State 4-2 223 23. Virginia 4-2 161 24. Fresno State 4-1 100 25. California 5-2 89
  21. I think Miami is the most undeserving top 10 team right now. It is a direct result of pre-season rankings, and they should be somewhere around 12 or 13
  22. The new AP Poll: 1. USC (54) 6-0 1,540 2. Texas (7) 6-0 1,492 3. Virginia Tech (1) 6-0 1,428 4. Georgia 6-0 1,361 5. Alabama 6-0 1,255 6. Miami 5-1 1,218 7. LSU 4-1 1,154 8. Texas Tech 6-0 1,079 9. UCLA 6-0 1,053 10. Florida State 5-1 934 11. Boston College 6-1 859 12. Notre Dame 4-2 846 13. Ohio State 4-2 742 14. Penn State 6-1 726 15. Auburn 5-1 655 16. Minnesota 5-2 90
  23. Here is great article on the USC game last night. Gave me goosebumps A few things I didn't know: Leinart and Bush both cried after the game, Bush it was their biggest victory yet. Weis went into USC locker room after the game to congratulate them. Great game and a lot of class by both programs (except bush slowing down when he broke free, which he apologized for) http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=wojciechowski_gene&id=2192737
