  1. No - I have audio. Thanks for the responses. Friday April 20, 2007: MLB: 1 Brasky: 0
  2. OT - just got back into the office but there's no gameday audio feed? it keeps showing an ad to upgrade mlb.tv to premium and won't access the feed. anyone else having this problem? thanks.
  3. It's because Aramis is out. Piniella's trying to fill out the lineup to provide as much protection as possible.
  4. So after seeing that clip I must ask, did Zell really make his bones on real estate or has he just always been wealthy thanks to his pot of gold?
  5. Had some pretty sweet seats last night at the Bulls game. Wish I wouldn't have left right after the buzzer sounded so I could have witnessed some of the happenings and gripes I'm reading about today - was sitting next to a real nutty broad and a prompt exit was desirable. Random note, sat two rows in front of Kid n Play (late 80's, early 90's; House Party movies). Might have to think hard and reach into the way-back machine to place them. For the promotions/entertainment the UC was playing all this old music from early 90's (think that "Word Up" song). I really wanted to turn around and ask when their track was going to be played. Hilarious.
  6. Is this turning into a running gag? What? Typing dominate instead of dominant. What's the difference? Grammar. "Dominate" is a verb. "Dominant" is an adjective. The initial post used "dominate" as an adjective. I know. I'm just playing around. I like to piss off grammar snobs. ... http://img.slate.com/media/33000/33923/Brown_BeerSnob.gif ...how dare you, sir.
  7. All right, thoughts on the Napoleon Dynamite commercial for car insurance through Seattle's tv feed?
  8. it just came on, but it's the mariners' feed. ... gross.
  9. Don't ask questions that beg unfavorable answers. Just nod and smile.
  10. What in the name of Gracie is going on with the mlb tv feed? Stuck at work and need my fix.
  11. The craps tables are calling. I can only imagine Z gambling. Forget the rage if he's not winning a couple of hands. I want to hear about him pointing up at the sky after doubling down or screaming at another player at the table who wins a hand and appears to be showing up Big Z. And - and I strongly believe in this - he must maintain his new practice of referring to himself in the third person as "Big Z." Like if he loses 4 hands in a row. He just looks at the dealer and says, "Sorry, but Big Z must go." Of course, it would be best if he's gambling with the understanding that he's got a new long-term contract in place. ... Get it done, Jim.
  12. 200 pitches, sorry  It was on an IU board afterall :) Whoa, whoa, whoa ... watch it there, bub. That's my alma mater. Don't think you don't still owe us for harvesting the fine talents of one Mickey Morandini before his glorious years as a Cub ... :club:
  13. If you're looking for bleacher seats, I'd try ebay first. Watching a few auctions now. Pretty confident with ebay ticket auctions, Vance?
  14. Random question related to my prior OT question: Anyone know how much of a markup Wrigley Field Premium Ticket Services charges?
  15. Have you tried stubhub.com? Yeah, just trying to determine options and compare. So far, little difference.
  16. OT question: what's the name of that ticket broker that's actually partnered with the Cubs? About ready to eat a ridiculous cost for a Cubs fan coming into town for the 4/14 Reds game in the bleachers.
  17. Shhh ... somewhere Brad Hawpe is lurking.
  18. okay, try clicking on the scoreboard links at the top until you find the cubs game. that seems to be working better for me 2-0 Rockies on two fielding errors (Fonz and Floyd), wild pitch by Prior advanced Matsui to 3rd to score on sac fly. ...bleeeggghhh
  19. Not sure about you guys but I'm still enjoying that first pitch strike. ... so, how slow has the Gameday been running this spring?
  20. I think this was the answer to an old LSAT logic game question.
  21. Theriot scores on a foul line hugging hit by Aramis. 1-1. Barrett up. Barrett walks. EDIT: these announcers could put you to sleep if you downed 4 pots of coffee and ate a pound of chocolate in 20 minutes. It's brutal.
  22. No problems here. In fact, they just did their 3:55 minute time check/mark ... complete with a countdown. Eesh. Great googily moogily 15 seconds until the 4 min time check.
  23. Tune in to the Gameday Audio feed, and I hear the Beatles' "Something." Nice little surprise. Any lineups yet? Bruce mentioned on the radio that The Riot would play RF today, I think. EDIT: Okay, so the radio dj in KC just waited 30 sec to do a time check/mark for 2:45 pm. Man, that pace of life must be nice to tap into now and again.
  24. Just speaking more to Lou's effect on players' production/performance, Bruce indicated that Lou has no qualms holding a one-sided conversation with a player and basically sets an expecation for the player to meet. Bruce posed an incredulous rhetorical question asking why the previous managerial regime couldn't get players to do certain things, specifically referencing Cedeno's walk totals and overall improvement this spring, pointing to a cohesive offensive philosophy on the field (and hinting that such philosophy - or at root a coherent approach - be used not only on the field, but also up the chain by the front office). Categorically stated that Lou and his staff are placing expectations on the players and are driving it in to the players to meet them. ... Accountability is a nice change of pace.
