    Marmol is starting today (Wednesday). Oh...I thought Guzman was taking his spot in the rotation? Well, if either Guzman or Marmol is sitting in the bullpen as a "long relief" man, it's a waste. In fact, the entire concept of long relief is a waste if you have a 12 man staff, IMO. You are trying to introduce logic into the decision making of the Cubs? :D

    If somehow we manage to win Sunday to complete a sweep of the Cards, I believe Hendry will announce his extension Monday. Just a hunch. Everyone says he's waiting for the right time and there may b no better time if they sweep in St. Louis.

    I've been thinking the same thing for about a month now. No matter how hard I try I still want to see the Cubs on TV or check the boxscore every morning and hope that they win, but I agree with most everything you said. Oh, and so I do have something to say about the thread topic, I'm proud of Corey and wish him the best of luck he really seems to be playing well now.

    Guzman was on the hill in Des Moines last night in an exhibition game against the University of Iowa. So how did he do? Sorry to hijack the thread but Williams and Rusch both suck anyway so why not.

    The only way this isn't a terrible idea is if Grissom is signed to sweep the dugouts after the game. Of course if he's in the stadium Dusty will play him regularly.
