  1. and start sitting lee and ramirez on a regular basis, no need to risk them for next year either. hell, add prior to that list as well. zambrano too. those are the only 5 guys on this team i care to see next year. and i'm not opposed to trading wood, lee, ramirez for the right deal. Why would we trade Ramirez? Seriously, that makes no sense. ARod and Ensberg are the only guys who have produced more offensively at the 3B position. Trading him makes no sense. that's why i said for the right deal. if i could send wood, lee, and ramirez to texas and get back teixeira, soriano, blalock, and mench of course i would do it. i don't think texas would though.

  3. guess it's safe to shut Wood down now, should've never brought him back up in the first place.
  4. i doubt baker will be fired either. but remeber the team chemistry is good so i bet they're having fun in the dugout.
  5. isn't there a guy on the bench with a .400 average and .490 OBP? i think he has red hair. He's a righty, dude. Hollandsworth is, like, no slouch out there. Dempster made sure it didn't matter. The rest of the bullpen has rubbed off on him.

  7. The quote on rotoworld is even better: ''Somebody is going to have to pay,'' Baker said. ''Somebody is in trouble. It was like doo-dooon the mound or something. Don't ask me. Larry is going to address it with them. That's Larry's department. I'm in charge, but a manager is in charge of certain functions.'' I have to wonder, did he really say doo-doo? Maybe they printed what they were allowed to and not what he said? I found it hilarious either way.
  8. Where did you hear this? not doubting you, just wondering. Also, do you think he would clear waivers? Or is it pretty obviously an offseason move? I also, saw this news: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlbpa/players/6900/news Not a chance Mench would make it through waivers. His salary this year is $345K. And I assume he wouldn't get some extreme increase in arbitration. 3 years for 12 million would be a steal in my opinion.
  9. Burrel was out no matter what. That is not what the issue was, Rollins was coming home (he thought) He thought Rollins was coming home so rather than run two feet to his left and stand at home he throws (poorly!) to third???? Barrett is just not good.
  10. Or dempster not being able to hit the broad side of a barn. yeah. that too.
  11. burnitz's poor ab and base running are about o bite us.
  12. i don't think he can do that because of aram's sore quad.
  13. that inning was typical of this team this year. yuck.
  14. How could he? Murton and Barrett had already replaced their counterparts, the 9 spot hadn't come up yet. maybe hairston/gerut to cf, macias to 3rd, neifi to ss, dempster in ramirez or cedenos spot. would that work? just seems odd, cause now he'll have to pinch hit and lose his best reliever if we don't win in the ninth. I doubt Dempster's good for more than one inning anyway. He's thrown 3 days in a row before last night, and that's a lot of adjustments just for that. Good point. Well, hopefully it won't matter anyway.

  16. sportsline has dempster hitting ninth. is that right? dusty didn't double-switch?
  17. hate to see the reaction from this statement, but with the hitters due up in the top of the 8th it looks like a decent time to use remlinger. i don't want to see him overuse novoa like he did weurtz earlier in the year.
  18. That was 0 outs. This one is 1 now w/ Hollansworth in the box. he was probably just getting a headstart on his post :D
  19. hank only shows up against the white sox and cards. i guess that's better than never. i can deal with that.
  20. Against a RH starter there's no possibility of Murton getting a start. The only way someone besides Hollandsworth starts against a RH starter is if Hendry trades for a proven veteran LF. Whats the over-under on how many men Hollandsworth leaves on base today? I'm say 8. Hollandsworth career against Tomko.... 3 for 23. That's pretty amazing.
  21. Starting Lineups San Francisco Jason Ellison, CF Omar Vizquel, SS J.T. Snow, 1B Pedro Feliz, LF Michael Tucker, RF Edgardo Alfonzo, 3B Deivi Cruz, 2B Yorvit Torrealba, C Brett Tomko, P Chicago Cubs Jose Macias, CF Todd Walker, 2B Derrek Lee, 1B Jeromy Burnitz, RF Aramis Ramirez, 3B Todd Hollandsworth, LF Ronny Cedeno, SS Henry Blanco, C Carlos Zambrano, P
  22. Feliz's HR was on a very good pitch, he hits a HR on that pitch maybe 1 out of 50 swings.
