So i go to hospital for a day and it all kicks off!! Anyone want to summarise this 25 page thread? Any ideas on the 2nd trade to take place??. From a personal point of view i learned that i may go blind within a few months so at least i wont be watching pierres awful defence next year!! I'll just listen to Rons howling instead!!!

I keep reading that trading will be better this year because of the poor FA class. If you look at a guy like abreu, who can the phillies replace him with if they move him? They might have to wait till next year to aquire a replacement. So in fact the FA class just pushes the price of average players up, Pie for pierre ? come on.................

'The only thing that makes that lineup decent is Abreu. Pierre is a joke. If hendry overvalues speed to the extent that he thinks it makes up for his no-out-of-the-infield-hitting, noodle armed, poor range garbage, then he's on drugs' Dont hold back meat, tell us what you really think!!!!

I know that lugois attractive as a leadoff hitter check out his fielding stats. Compare them to Agon in 03. 24 errors for Lugo in '05 compared to 10 for agon in '03. fielding pct 962 compared to Agons 984 in '03. What i'm trying to say is that hendry is sticking round pegs in square holes. He is getting a SS for no other reason than he can leadoff cos he certainly can't catch the ball very well.

Lots of clubs chasing the same pieces. I think the price for lugo may go sky high. Is it wort it seeing as we have cedeno ready?. If we got Lugo i'm using cedeno and walker to get me a stud OF.

Levine reporting on ESPN1000 Lugo and pierre top priorities. OF being looked at are Dunn,Huff, basically what we've all speculated.

I have no idea either , play cedeno bat him 8th upgrade OF. Without furcal is anyone more open to soriano?. His bat would look pretty good about now considering our OF situation.

No way i make this trade. I would rather take the risk on wood getting healthy and hill finding another pitch to complete his rise to the majors.

I honestly believe that we are all over reacting and trying to trade away cornerstones because things seem so desperate. To trade from strength we could sign both Millwood and weaver and then deal Prior or Z. At least you don't leave a glaring need. No way i want blalock over Aram. Also what are the pitchers going to be like in free agency next year when we might have to replace wood and will have to replace maddux?.

This is why i dont see a match with pierre. Hendry is obsessed with defence at the moment how does Jp fall in to that category.?

Is it worth loking to detroit for Maggs? i know its a huge risk but if they pay some cash this could have the biggest upside of any deal we make.

We will aquire a leadoff hitter. From all the articles we have read both Hendry and Baker are obsessed with the idea of speed at the top rather than OBP. Don't have a list but i imagine we will either overpay for pierre or my personal hope is stealing micheals from the phillies( with Abreu!!). The RF will be left handed. Not only did a few papers mention that hendry is looking for this but he also will replace JB with a left handed bat. To those who are negative about huff you might want to reconsider due to the fact the other option is J Jones. The big thing that worries me is that hendry is so obsessed with catching the ball he forgets about K's and contact.

I'm going to say something that will probably pee alot of people off, if i can get a quality corner Of and poss a SP of the highest quality i play Pie in CF bat him 7th in the lineup and expect nothing from him. If he gets on base not only can he steal but you can play some hit and run with cedeno at 8th. I suggest this because i think we need more than just a leadoff hitter now that furcal hasn't signed. I then sign a player to back up Pie or keep patterson for defensive situations. I know i'm going to be told its too early but we need a shot in the arm and the braves never seem to be afraid of letting the youth be served. Lineup. 2B walker LF Murton 1B D Lee RF Dunn/Abreu/Manny 3B Aram C Barrett CF Pie/Cpatt/Hairston SS cedeno/Perez

Julio Lugo at SS?

I read a lot of stuff on other boards about trading with the braves for betimit if Lugo goes to atlanta. Whats the point? we have cedeno and he projects to be very similar with stellar defence. I'm really not concearned about solving the leadoff hitter as there are options. The OF however could leave us with a large power outage....... -
Jones is not a good fit for the cubs. Don't panic this offseason didn't revolve around furcal or bust. We can still get guys who can bat in front and behind D Lee and Aram. We don't have to go FA and we certainly have the $$ to take on a big contract via a trade..

I'm done with furcal. If he wanted to sign here 5yrs $50 should of been more than enough to get it done. I respect Hendry for the effort he's made but sometimes you cant polish a turd and that is what furcal is making me think he is. No way am i offering more , let him rot in la or go home to Bobby.
