  1. I don't think that was Baker's fault. Just because a manager calls for a sac bunt doesn't mean you try and bunt at balls out of the zone. Even Marshall didn't do that. That was another example of bad baseball. This time it happens to be Cedeno showing incompetence at the plate. perhaps bad bseball on cedeno's part, but you have to play for a big inning when you're down 5, w/ a rookie on the mound, and especially w/ the way this team has been hitting. You can see Dusty logic being we haven't been scoring runs lately, you might as well scatch across runs because big innings have not come too often for this team.
  2. Can we score a couple and get us back into this game. Marshall will hold'em for the rest of the game.
  3. What's your opinion of Marshall bunting here? He should bunt here. It beats a K or a DP.
  4. Excuse me I may of missed something...When did Hill look good and why do you think he'll be alright? His last outing. Considering the circumstances (Bonds going for 714) he held up well. He gave up 5ER's. That's holding up well? I'm sorry he stinks! He has a great curve he can't throw for a strike and below average fastball. I'm sure you can determine this from an inning, right? No, Were talking about Hill not Marshall. No matter what happens today I still like marshall alot. Ohhhh sorry man. I don't think Hill is bad either. He needs to work on a change and another pitch, but hes sorta old now. Wasted potential. He's 27 years old!
  5. He had a quality start until the moron of a manager let him go out to face the top of the order for the 4th time with 90+ pitches already thrown. If it was Maddux he would have pulled himself out since he hates facing guys 4 times a game (and routinely gets pulled in the 92 pitch range). Sorry if Hill can't get past 4 innings then no matter what it's not a quality start in my book.
  6. Good comeback inning for the big guy and he's at 39 pitches. Not bad...Let's see if the kid can settle down some...

  9. AND!!!! We worked him over by making him throw 13 pitches!
  10. Is that right, only 28 pitches in the first for Marshall? Yep! Not bad.

  12. Looks like RAM and the Cubs are already packing this game in. I can see a complete game for Wright today.
  13. Well the good news is after letting up 5 runs in the 1st he did a decent job of limiting his pitch count, no?
  14. I'm not sure one game = a streak For this team it does!
  15. Oh well the winning streak was great while it lastest. See you tomorrow guys!
  16. I hope he makes it out of the 1st inning.
  17. Yikes tough first inning for the kid...
  18. That's a great quote by Gallagher in your avatar!
  19. Obviously Pierre isn't as bad as he has shown, but don't you get the feeling that Pierre is a goner at the ASB and Pie will be at CF?
  20. Well, I predicted a loss last night and they won, so I'll try it again...Cubs stink and they will lose 6-2!
  21. I remember the same thing before we fired Zimmer, Rigglemen, and Baylor... I still don't understand what Riggleman did wrong. He had a talentless bunch of hacks and got 90 wins out of them one year. He was actually ripped for babying Kerry Wood too much. What was it that he did wrong? He had some decent years with awful teams. I always thought he did an decent job, but he hasn't managed since the cubs and that speaks volumes. You would think someone would give him another chance. I can tell you this if Dusty gets fired of leaves after this year, he'll be employed as a manager for some major league team in 2007.

  23. They need more fire. FIRE! They have been week minded since 2004...Every year is the same thing over and over again. The Bears "Defense" has taken on the personality of both Rivera and Smith. That "personality" is a low-talking, hard-hitting do the job on the field attitude. The Bulls have taken the personality of that of Scott Skiles. That personality is that to play incredibly hard, and play to the UTMOST of your talent, if not exceed it. In other words...overachieve. The White Sox have taken the personality of that of Ozzie Guillen. Don't understand what they heck they are doing, but they play the game right and hard. (Can ANYBODY truly understand what Guillen says? :? ) No excuses. The Blackhawks.....well NM, they ain't professional. That means the Cubs have taken on the personality of Dusty Baker. That means...Dusty is incredibly inept of the foundamentals. Incredibly sensitve (ahem weak minded), excuse laden team that Don Baylor would be proud of. In other words....This engine is broke, and the Cubs need a completely need engine. But the problem lies who's going to fix it? Let's face it we swap out managers more then Corey Pattersons K's. I don't think it's only Dusty's fault. It's from upper managerment on down...
