  1. If you can, take the cable box back and ask for a HDMI box. They have them and should not cost you any more per month. Skip the converter as it is just a point of failure should it go. Then I'd lose all my DV-R'd programs... And I have Mediacom (downstate provider). I'll call and see if they offer an HDMI box. My Comcast HDMI box has a DVR in it.
  2. If you have Comcast they have a HDMI box you just have to ask for it. HDMI is a must for HD.
  3. And it's going to be HDTV! Gotta love that! HD is nice, I just wish ESPN would broadcast their baseball games in 1080i. Every game on ESPNHD has been in 720p... nice, but not awesome. The difference between 720P and 1080I is really minimal at best. I just got a 50' Sony SXRD and the picture to me is stunning! I have the exact same TV. It is hooked up via HDMI and I freakin love every part of it. However, if possible watch a baseball game on ESPNHD then watch INHD ... they broadcast random games (sometime 3 per week) and push the signal out at 1080i, let me tell you it is night and day. Granted an SXRD and ESPNHD is AMAZING, once you see the SXRD and 1080i ... you will know what I am talking about! I have it through HDMI also and I can't take my eyes off it. I love INHD and also love the Discovery-HD. Also the HD movies on Showtime and HBO are just amazing looking!

  6. This just really, really Sox! Call up Sing and maybe he'll catch fire. Arrrhh!
  7. Haha...good one It'll be intersting to see if DLEE is out for a period of time if the Cubs try to get Choi from Boston? If I remember right didn't Choi have a good glove?
  8. I think we might win this series. The team will rally around with DLEE being hurt and may take this series. We aren't seeing Carpenter so you never know....
  9. Sings' not doing so hot in Iowa right now. I'm afraid our options are very limited. Let's hope Dlee is alright and we can stop speculating. I'm sure we will get a update from Sports Central tonight.
  10. No update yet. Expect it later on this afternoon
  11. Thank you! I'm sick of the Neifi bashers. Way to miss the point. It was meant to be a joke. I guess it wasn't funny.
  12. Thank you! I'm sick of the Neifi bashers.
  13. Never felt so bad after a great win last night. :( Let's just hope that DLEE comes out of this alright. I was just telling my friend last night that I love the makeup of this team. Let me do a shout out to the big man upstairs to heal DLEE fast!
  14. Pre-emptive and usually wrong? Um, maybe you didn't notice, but Dusty's first choice was to insert Neifi into the lineup. He's used Neifi as his go to guy before in tight spots, and clearly has an affinity for Neifi. Anybody expressing concern about Neifi getting more playing time due to this is absolutely justified. Has it ever been pointed out here that Neifi is making a serious run at the title of worst hitter in the history of baseball? Substituting Neifi for anyone in your lineup is a bad thing, substituting Neifi for Lee is worthy of crying. Only about 300,000,000,000 times. It's should also be noted an equal amount of times that Neifi is responsible for terrorism, slavery back in the 19th century, genocide in Africa, global warming, and the loss of every species that is now extinct. Stupid Neifi. No, see, the truth is he really does suck and hurts the team when he plays. Those other things are obviously untrue, which is why we don't talk about them when discussing the Cubs and/or Neifi. We talk about his suckage because he really does suck. I'm not saying he is a good player overall, but could you please point out to me how he hurt the team in last night's game? The truth of the matter is there are a ton of teams that would love to have Neifi as a backup.
  15. Not to beat the 2003 horse again, but how about the 2003 Cubs? When Sosa went down in early May that year, he was carrying a .980 OPS, and was out for about 3 weeks. Patterson was inserted into the 3 spot, and did a fine job in the interim. I'm not sure where they were in the standings when Sosa went down and when he came back, but that was a case of an offensively-challenged team losing their best offensive player for an extended stretch and not having it ruin their season. That being said, I am in favor of giving Murton a shot in the 3 spot. I'd go: Pierre Walker Murton Ramirez Barrett Jones Mabry Cedeno The 2003 starting staff was head and shoulders above this years staff right now. They survived without Sosa because the staff didn't give up any runs.
  16. It'll be real tough because DLEE is the heart and soul of this team. They aren't only going to miss his run production but his glove also. I honestly don't see this team competing on a high level without him. If he's gone for a couple of weeks they can survive, but 4-6 weeks? Man, let's just say it's not good, not good at all. Why can't Pujols ever get hurt? This sucks because I really sense something special with this team. Terrible, just terrible.... :x
  17. The way Cedeno has been hitting you hate to move him but eventually he's going to hit 2nd.
  18. Man, I want this win tonight! Give us some momentum going into the dreaded Card Series... Winning 2 out of 3 on the road is important. Especially with the Cards coming up. Hell just winning any game is important this time of the year! I'm thinking the rest of the month like this after a win tonight: 1/3 Cards 2/3 Florida 2/3 Milwaukee. For a April of 14-10 Not bad! 14-9 actually Oops. Yes you are right 14-9.

  20. Well he's due for a downfall I hope we are the team to do it.

  22. [-X [-X [-X Cubs winning trumps fantasy stats at all times Cubs winning trumps everything friends and family included!
  23. This would be huge for the kid Marshall. Be nice to make him 2-0. This is a team and stadium in which he should do well at.
  24. Lowe killed us last year also. I think we'll get to Penny tonight and big. Cubs win this one big 8-3! ARAM and Lee are going yard tonight! Book it! The Cubs got him last year. I think Neifi hit a 2 run homer in the first inning (which is probably why he started last night) and Lowe went into the dugout and cut his finger while pounding a chair. The Cubs won that game (swept the series). You are right. I was thinking of Wakefield for some reason...
